What to expect
Discover the rich history of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese with a visit to a traditional cheese factory in Parma. This protected cheese, made exclusively in the Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, and parts of Bologna and Mantua regions, is still produced using time-honored methods. The production process dates back over 900 years, when Cistercian monks first created it in the Parma countryside. During the tour, you'll witness the cheese being extracted from the boilers, visit the brine room, and explore the maturing warehouse. Here, you'll see thousands of wheels of cheese at various stages of aging, as experts perform the "beating" to assess quality. The tour ends with a tasting of Parmigiano-Reggiano, paired with balsamic vinegar and local sparkling wine

Reviews
Highly recommended and the guide tour was very friendly 🙏🏼
My tour guide was Lori, and we had a very pleasant conversation in the car. She explained the production process of Parmigiano Reggiano in great detail, and she also made jokes from time to time during the explanation, which was very interesting! This is a tour I would highly recommend!
