What to expect
[Autumn/Winter Limited | Hokkaido Snow Country Fairytale Tour]
[Christmas Tree]
The Christmas tree in autumn and winter is surrounded by golden hills and pure white snowfields. The solitary tree stands quietly in the center of the vast land, full of Hokkaido’s unique romantic and tranquil atmosphere. *Depending on the weather and road conditions on the day, it may be changed to a drive-by viewing without getting off the car. If it is not possible to visit, it will be changed to Ken & Mary’s Tree.
[Shikisai no Oka]
From September to October, you can enjoy the golden farmlands and autumn hill scenery; after November, the entire hill is covered with white snow, transforming into a vast snowfield. During winter, you can also experience snow activities such as snowmobiling and sledding at your own expense. *Snowmobiling is available from mid-to-late December. 15,000 JPY for a single person for 30 minutes, 20,000 JPY for two people. Reservations can be made on-site with the assistance of a tour guide. During the off-season, the visit will be changed to Chiyoda Farm. *If snow conditions are poor, the visit will be changed to a stroll around Biei Station.
[Shiragane Falls]
In winter, the area around the waterfall is covered with white snow and frost. The clear blue stream, snow-covered trees, and white steam from the hot springs create a dreamlike scene, as if time has stood still, stunning and charming.
[Ningle Terrace]
This is the most popular fairytale spot in winter. White snow covers the forest and log cabins, and with the warm lighting, it looks like a fairytale world in a snow country. Strolling along the wooden boardwalk, you can feel the quiet and romantic winter night atmosphere. *If it is not possible to visit Ningle Terrace due to unforeseen circumstances, the visit will be changed to Aoiike (about 30 minutes).

[Shikisai no Oka]
In spring and summer, it transforms into a colorful flower field world. From April to May, you can enjoy the hills and distant mountains after the snow melts; From June, tulips and various flowers bloom one after another; July to August ushers in the most dreamlike season, with lavender, sunflowers, and other flower fields interwoven into a rainbow-like landscape, which is Hokkaido’s most representative summer scenery. *If flower conditions are poor, the visit will be changed to a stroll around Biei Station.
[Shiragane Falls]
In summer, it is surrounded by a lush green forest, with the white waterfall contrasting sharply with the dreamy blue stream.
[Ningle Terrace]
Located next to the New Furano Prince Hotel, this forest fairytale village consists of 15 unique wooden cabins, selling handicrafts, coffee, and limited edition goods. In spring and summer, it is surrounded by a lush green forest, and sunlight filters through the forest paths, creating a fresh and healing atmosphere, as if stepping into a forest fairytale world.

Reviews summaryToday I joined the Furano day trip from Sapporo, and I must give our tour guide Oliver a big thumbs up! Oliver's professionalism and friendliness are both 100%. From the beginning of the gathering, he carefully helped us check the information, and explained the various attractions in three languages throughout the journey, very clearly. He not only made the characteristics and background stories of the various attractions in Biei vivid and interesting, but also thoughtfully reminded us of the return time and place. We took beautiful photos at the Lonely Christmas Tree and Shikisai-no-oka, and also rode snowmobiles, which was so much fun! We experienced a fairy-tale atmosphere at the Forest Fairy Terrace, and also admired the stunning natural scenery at Shirahige Falls. The HERB GARDEN buffet lunch was also great, with a rich variety and delicious food. Oliver took care of everyone's needs throughout the trip, proactively helped us take photos, and was always able to help us solve problems in the first time, making the whole journey particularly safe and happy. This travel experience really exceeded expectations, I highly recommend everyone to choose this tour, and be sure to look for Oliver as your tour guide!
Our tour guide, ZHOU ZHENG is nice and accommodating. We had an amazing winter tour around Shikisai no Oka and the beautiful spots of Biei. Shikisai no Oka was absolutely stunning — the vast white landscape felt like a winter wonderland. The snowmobile ride was definitely a highlight! It was such a thrilling and fun experience gliding across the snowy fields. Seeing the iconic Christmas Tree no Ki in person was surreal. Standing alone in the middle of a snow-covered field, it looked straight out of a postcard. Shirahige Falls was breathtaking, especially with the contrast of the blue water against the white snow — truly a magical sight during winter. We ended the tour at Ningle Terrace, which felt like a little overated and most of the shops are closed. We weren’t able to see it at night or during dawn as we only have 30min stay in the area and we arrived 330pm. Overall, the tour was well-organized, scenic, and unforgettable — a perfect winter experience in Hokkaido!
Great tour, very well organized from start to finish. Some of the places we visited felt truly magical, like something straight out of a fairy tale. Special thanks and appreciation to our tour guide, Zhouzheng, and the bus driver. Zhouzheng was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and even took fantastic photos for us , which made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended! The buffet lunch was great and good value for money.
Our Ningle Terrace tour may have been short, but it was definitely sweet and memorable! The place feels like a real-life winter storybook tiny wooden cabins glowing in the snow, cozy vibes everywhere, and perfect spots for photos. We also tried the snowmobile experience for 30 minutes, and it was absolutely FUN! ❄️🔥 It’s not included in the package, but totally worth it. Rates were ¥20,000 for double ride and ¥15,000 for single ride. Such an adrenaline rush and a highlight of the trip! The famous lone Christmas tree near Furano was also beautiful and peaceful, simple but very picturesque against the snowy background. Short time, big memories. Would definitely recommend adding this stop to your Hokkaido itinerary! 🌨️🎄
Our tour guide Yuan Zhenxiang was very accommodating and made sure of everyone’s safety was a priority. We were informed that Shikosai was closed during our scheduled date so we have to change a bit of plan which was ok. This tour especially the Lonely Christmas Tree was my bucketlist and I am so happy this was fulfilled. Highly recommended.
I went to the meeting place and couldn't find the person with the Klook board, so I thought I had missed the bus and returned to the hotel. Then I received a phone call and found out that the bus was delayed due to traffic congestion, and I was able to participate safely! We were the only Japanese people, but the guide spoke to us in Japanese, and we had a lot of fun! The tour was an hour late, but we were taken to all the places, and it became a very good memory! We got back after 9 o'clock, but I'm glad we were able to go to all the places. I don't think you should make any plans afterwards. The jacket potato sold at Shikisai-no-oka was so delicious that I ate it twice.
The trip was awesome. Except for the part that we were not able to go to Ningle Terrace due to weather condition. However, were able rerouted to Blue Pond. Tour guide Zhou Zheng is amazing.
The itinerary was well-planned and suitable for friends who don't like going to the zoo, incorporating the main attractions of Biei. There were some issues on the day due to heavy snow, and we departed about forty minutes late, which disrupted the subsequent itinerary. However, the tour guide made excellent arrangements. Originally, it was planned to visit two attractions in the morning and two in the afternoon, but the tour guide took us to one attraction first and then to lunch. In the afternoon, we were given a lot more time to take photos at each attraction than originally planned. By the time we reached the last stop, it was already evening, and the lights were on, which was very beautiful. It was also a stroke of luck to see the illuminated Elf Terrace. Finally, we returned to Sapporo city around 8 p.m. Kudos to the tour guide for their ability to handle unexpected situations and make temporary arrangements.
Our trip in Hokkaido was amazing thanks to our guide, Masa! He is very kind, patient, and has great knowledge about every place we visited. He always took good care of us and made the trip enjoyable. We truly appreciated his service and would love to travel with him again. Highly recommended! ❄️🌨️☃️
The Little Sheep tour guide was awesome! Very polite and took great care of every member of the group, definitely over 100 points. We just felt the snowmobiling was kind of boring, riding too slow, having to ride in single file, and the smell of gasoline was strong. The price was about 3000 per person self-funded, and it didn't really feel worth it. The other activities were all amazing, for everyone's reference.
Good to know
From mid-to-late December, you can enjoy sledding, snow banana boating, and snow biking at Shikisai-no-Oka at your own expense. Prices are as shown on the Shikisai-no-Oka website.

Fee details: 30-minute experience Single rider: 15,000 JPY Double rider: 20,000 JPY If you wish to participate, please inform your guide on the day, and the guide will assist you with the reservation. Alternative attractions if Shikisai-no-Oka is inaccessible: Chiyoda Farm or Biei Station
- Infants under 2 years old are free and will not be provided with a seat. If a child of infant age requires a seat, the adult fare must be paid. If the actual number of participants does not match the number in the order and insufficient seats result from not informing us in advance, passengers must reduce their numbers or reschedule. No refunds will be given for reduced numbers, and rescheduling fees will be charged separately.
- This activity requires a minimum of 6 participants to form a group. If the minimum number of participants is not met, you will be offered a reschedule or a full refund.
- Please adhere to the scheduled times. If you are late, it will be considered an automatic cancellation of the tour, and the fees paid will not be refunded.
- Due to the significant impact of weather on winter transportation, our company will not be responsible for any subsequent losses caused by delays due to unavoidable factors such as traffic jams. Please be aware.
- This tour duration: Approximately 10 hours. However, in winter, due to snow, road closures, or traffic jams, the return travel time may be significantly extended.
- If it is not possible to reach the Christmas tree due to weather, traffic control, or safety considerations, we will go to the Ken & Mary Tree instead. We appreciate your understanding.
- If you need to bring luggage (including baby strollers and wheelchairs), please inform us in advance by email so that we can properly arrange vehicle space to make your journey smoother and more comfortable. We will arrange the vehicle type according to the number of participants. If the vehicle type confirmed 3-5 days before departure can accommodate luggage, an additional handling fee and space reservation fee of 1500 JPY per item (cash only) will be charged for luggage space and loading/unloading arrangements. Please pay the guide before boarding.
- A departure notice will be sent to your email by 5 PM the day before departure. Please check your email (or spam folder) at that time. It will contain the guide’s contact information for the day, license plate number, and detailed tour information. Thank you.
- Due to traffic congestion, facility maintenance, etc., the itinerary or停留時間 (stay time) at each attraction may be adjusted. In winter, if highways are closed or scenic areas have restricted access due to special circumstances, we will reduce or change the route, and no refunds will be given.
- Due to winter weather and road conditions, it is not recommended to arrange other itineraries or high-priced dinner reservations after returning on the same day. We will not be liable for any losses incurred.
- Alternative attractions during periods when the Ningle Terrace is inaccessible: Aoiike (Blue Pond) (approx. 30 minutes)
