Lake Suwa: Your Name Anime Sightseeing Tour
- Lake Suwa, the model location for the Japanese anime "Your Name."
- Nagano Prefecture is Japan's largest producer of fireworks. The Lake Suwa Festival Fireworks Display is held once a year, for one day only, with an estimated 40,000 fireworks launched.
- The firework launch platform is on the lake. Kiss of Fire blooms into semi-circular floral fireworks on the lake surface, forming a complete circle with the reflected lake light.
- Lake Suwa is surrounded by mountains, and the sound of fireworks reverberates through them, creating a "surround sound" experience that can only be felt on-site.
What to expect
Lake Suwa, the model for Makoto Shinkai's anime film "Your Name," is a pilgrimage site for fans.
Nagano Prefecture boasts the highest production volume of fireworks in Japan. Once a year, for one day only, the Lake Suwa Fireworks Festival launches over 40,000 fireworks, attracting tourists from both Japan and abroad.
Unlike other regions, the firework launch platforms are set up on the lake surface. The highlight, "Kiss of Fire," releases semi-circular floral bursts just above the water, creating picturesque reflections on the lake.

Reviews
It was a very good trip. I checked in at the filming location of Your Name and watched the most amazing 40,000 fireworks. It was so beautiful that I couldn't take it all in.
Sitting on the fifth row, watching the fireworks up close was very shocking. Although the tickets are a bit expensive, they are well worth it. 👍👍👍
Meet at the station at 2:00 PM to pick up tickets; can only gather for entry at 4:50 PM; fireworks start around 7:10 PM. The area is small, and the crowds make cell service spotty, making it hard to call a taxi. Almost all nearby shops are closed, or roped off for take-out only. The weather is very hot, and there are hardly any air-conditioned places (recommend going to the museum next to Katakuranokan, the restrooms are super clean). Considering the above, you'll have no idea where to go between 2:00 PM and 4:50 PM, and will probably end up just sitting on the ground waiting. If you need to gather this early for tickets, it would be nice to have at least a day tour package that includes transportation. The fireworks viewing location is amazing, incredibly close! Highly recommend purchasing this tour for the location alone - this time the show lasted until 9:00 PM, it was a blast! The tour guide was great 👍
Itinerary: soso Group Size: 40 Breaks: Adjust yourself Attractions Along the Way: None
The tour guide was very good. We were worried that it would rain and would inform us in advance to buy raincoats. Then we will also share some knowledge about Nagano with us.
The meeting place was not clear, and the pictures did not match the text, which was confusing. As a result, we were unable to meet the tour guide at the designated time! After communicating with the group members afterwards, I discovered that the tour guide had a WhatsApp group to contact them, but the tour guide did not take the initiative to contact us or add me to the WhatsApp group! Also, the itinerary is confusing! After many twists and turns, we found the tour guide, who said we would meet at the original meeting point in half an hour and take a taxi to Tateishi Park. But when we arrived at the meeting point on time, the tour guide was nowhere to be seen. We had no way to contact the tour guide at that time. We spent ten minutes going back and forth between the station and the taxi stand without finding her! Finally, the tour guide contacted me on WhatsApp and said they had a taxi and left first! What a bad experience! The tour guide has the responsibility to proactively contact group members in advance and take into account the whereabouts of group members who arrive on time! Only the viewing position and fireworks are good.
The seats in the observation seats are very good, and the complimentary dinner is also delicious, but the quality of the tour guide really needs to be improved: when we arrived, some of our companions said they wanted to go to Tateishi Park. After asking for their opinions, the tour guide decided that everyone should take a taxi there together. At the appointed time, the tour guide got into the taxi without caring about the two people who had not yet arrived (at that time, my companions in the car thought that the two people had told the tour guide that they would not go), and then in the taxi, he was calculating who else was missing. When I found out that I really missed it, I tried to shirk the responsibility by telling the people on the bus that it was not allowed to be late. After arriving at Tateishi Park, I made an appointment to meet up at four o'clock to go down the mountain. When the time arrived, the tour guide was nowhere to be seen. As promised, it was not allowed to be late. ? As for the rest, there is no introduction at all. The tour guide is more of a tourist than the guests. The guests have to wait for the tour guide and help the tour guide to pay attention to who is left behind. The entire group cannot hold up if there are less than ten people. In short, this itinerary cannot be done except for the tour guide. It's OK in itself.
