What to expect
【Jigokudani (Hell Valley)】 Located in the northeast of Noboribetsu Onsen area in Hokkaido, it is a crater of about 450 meters in diameter formed by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Hiyoriyama. The valley is full of countless fumaroles, spewing high-temperature gas and hot springs. This desolate landscape is reminiscent of hell, hence the name “Hell Valley.”

【Mount Usu Ropeway】 Mount Usu is one of the world’s active volcanoes. In the 20th century, four eruptions were observed. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view centered on Mount Usu in the Toya Usu Volcano Global Geopark.

【Bear Park】 Located near the entrance of the Showa Shinzan Ropeway, the Bear Park is home to more than 100 purebred Hokkaido brown bears. The brown bear is the largest wild mammal in Hokkaido. Visitors can feed the bears in the Bear Park. When they see food, the bears stand up and wave to the visitors, looking very cute and adorable.

【Lake Toya Lakeside】 Lake Toya is approximately 11 km long from east to west, 9 km wide from north to south, and has a circumference of 50 km. The water surface is 84 meters above sea level, with an average water depth of 117.0 meters, and the lake water is clear. The lake surface does not freeze in winter, making it the northernmost ice-free lake in Japan, with clear lake water all year round. 【Mount Yotei】 Mount Yotei in Hokkaido is also known as Ezo Fuji because it resembles Mount Fuji. Basically, it looks like a smaller version of Mount Fuji and is very majestic.

I had an amazing time exploring Noboribetsu and Lake Toya with our guide Kevin, and honestly, the trip would’ve been half as good without them. Kevin didn’t just stick to the main spots, he gave us solid tips for both Noboribetsu and Lake Toya, plus recommendations for other things to do around Hokkaido. That extra local insight made it easy to plan the rest of my stay. The name says it all for Hell Valley! the steaming vents, sulfuric smells, and bubbling pools everywhere. The wooden walkways make it easy to get close to the vents, and Kevin explained the history behind it, which made it way more interesting than just snapping photos. Lake Toya was the perfect contrast and was calm, wide, and surrounded by mountains. I enjoyed the Mt. Usu Ropeway and the bear ranch ! The local ice cream is a must at Lake hill farm. I tried the Hokkaido milk flavor.
In particular, our guide, Lucy from Shanghai, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She explained the tour itinerary in great detail and shared a wealth of information about Hokkaido, which greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the trip. Her English was also excellent. Throughout the bus ride, she switched smoothly between English and Chinese, making everything easy to understand even for us as Korean travelers. Finally, everything about this tour was excellent. Lucy’s professionalism and guiding skills were outstanding. Although my spouse and I were the only Korean participants on the tour, she thoughtfully brought us Korean-language brochures at the ropeway and occasionally mentioned Korea during the tour, which made us feel especially welcome and appreciated. I would also like to thank the driver, who quietly and safely handled the long journey. Thanks to his excellent driving, we were able to travel comfortably. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hokkaido.👍
Highly Recommended Tour Guide – Eric Kaneshiro We had an amazing experience on this tour, thanks to our guide, Eric Kaneshiro. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire trip enjoyable from start to finish. Eric shared interesting local history, culture, and tips that made each destination more meaningful. He was also very organized, ensured everyone was comfortable, and was always willing to answer questions. His enthusiasm and positive attitude kept the group engaged throughout the day. What stood out most was how he went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great experience, offering helpful recommendations and taking care of the group with genuine hospitality. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you have Eric as your guide. He truly made our trip memorable and enjoyable. Thank you, Eric, for an unforgettable experience!
Wonderful way to visit areas that I wouldn’t have known about on this beautiful Northern island of Japan. The sights were amazing. The bears were very entertaining, and our guide was very knowledgeable. Thank you, Hikaru, for a memorable experience. I would definitely recommend this trip.
This is by far one of the best one-day tours we booked on Klook. The itinerary is just right, not too tight, not too lose. Lucy was great! She was witty, entertaining, insightful and helpful. She really knows her craft.
The trip was excellent. We have a enjoyable trip with beautiful views. Our friendly guide Mr Eric was very helpful and friendly.Strongly recommend this tour. Finally thanks Eric our tour guide for giving our a amazing trip.
Our tour guide, Chillin, was incredibly attentive, making this one of the highlights of our Hokkaido trip. We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed all the attractions on the itinerary. Chillin's English was excellent, and she was passionate about sharing knowledge about animals, the history of the sights, and even recommended food and skincare products! She was very generous with her insights, and we had a wonderful time. We were also very grateful that our fellow travelers were punctual. The bus itself was spacious and clean, and the approximately 3-hour round trip was very smooth. The tourist attractions were interesting and suitable for both children and seniors, and we were able to see so many places in just one day. The price was also very reasonable. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience! 😊
We had a wonderful experience with our guide, Ms. Chillin. She made the entire tour smooth and enjoyable. What stood out most was her unique guiding style, she explains everything clearly in one language first, either Mandarin or English, instead of mixing both at the same time. This made it much easier to follow without feeling overwhelmed, and we didn’t have to wait long for translations. It kept the flow of the tour efficient, even while we were on the bus. She was also very honest and helpful. She shared great tips on where to find good deals and even warned us about shops that were not worth buying from, helping us save both time and money. Her recommendations were practical and thoughtful. Overall, the tour was definitely worth the price. It’s perfect if you want to see many places in a well-organized way. However, if you prefer more time to relax at each stop, this might feel a bit fast-paced. For us, it was just right and truly completed our Hokkaido trip.
This trip was amazing! Our tour guide, Mr. Leo, was very kind and considerate. All the activities in the itinerary were fun, and we really enjoyed them. The time allocated for each activity was just right.
