Reviews summaryAnother gem from Like It Formosa! My guide Julianne is so sweet and even gave me Taiwanese book recommendations (which I followed and loved, by the way!). I love how the tpur features specific examples of how rich Di Hua is during its prime, the level of detail Julianne provided throughout the tour is something I don't think I can get anywhere else.
super enjoyed this walking tour! its tiring cause we walked for 3 hours but we really learned a lot and got to enjoy taipei from a different view. our tour guide Minnie is also very nice and understanding :)
Wallis was the guide assigned to us and she just poured out her knowledge and personal insights regarding every places we visited, and also recommended some place for us to have some replenishment. It was an enriching tour not only in sights and sounds, but also to our mind. Thank you wallis for letting us know more of the golden age of taiwan.
Cathy is a knowledgeable and relateable guide. She could link world events with the Taiwanese timelines so that you could easily understand the context. It was an enjoyable experience. It just so happened that the tour occured in the month where the City God's birthday was being celebrated. If you are into architecture and the union of the old and the new, this tour is for you.
"We were captivated by more than just the old buildings and streets on our walking tour; we delved deep into Taiwan's culture and rich history. Our guide's enthusiasm and warmth made the experience truly unforgettable. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour!"
Last night, I temporarily took an afternoon tour at KLook. This is an English guided tour. Although I participated in the Dihua Street tour in Chinese, I wanted to experience it in English. The guided tour takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes, and the route is as follows: (Zhongzheng District) Taipei Fucheng North Gate (Chengen Gate) - Taipei North Gate Post Office - (Datong District) Taipei Fa Zhugong Temple - Tianma Tea House Ruins - Yongle Cloth Market - Taipei Xia Haichenghuang Temple - Dihua Street - Dihua Street Ten Buildings There are two tour guides today. One is Yuan who explains this route about 100 times a year, and the other is HanWen who should have just joined the tour guide. Meeting point At Exit 2 of Beimen MRT Station. Their English is excellent and their explanations are very clear and easy to understand. There are 7 girls in our group, 3 from the Philippines, 2 from France, 1 from the United States, and one from Taipei, Taiwan. The tour guide will start with a brief introduction to the history of Taiwan, and then go to each location to explain a little history and have some interactive questions. The content will not be boring. The only drawback is that the itinerary is too rich, so you have to seize the opportunity and time to take photos, because every point is explained before leaving. But what I want to say is that this time I really learned more about the history of Taipei. It's really worth it. Although Klook said it was a free trip, we still have to be self-aware and tip people. 🙂 The final stop was near the MRT Daqiaotou Station, so we stopped by the Yansan Night Market and bought the famous Wei Xiangji Pure Candy. Mochi burnt mochi. Although I rarely come here, the items at Yansan Night Market are really to my taste. 😋 Come here again one day to eat, swordfish rice noodles, salty glutinous rice balls, abalone seafood porridge...
i highly recommend this walking tour to anyone who's planning to go to Taiwan. i have learned so much about the country and the business areas built around the history streetslf Taiwan.
