Things to do in Fansipan

Very nice view at the mountain top, and the cable car is extremely great to see the amazing scene that go up to the cloud level. The weather at the mountain is cool and air is refreshing. It has some ancient temples and a big Buddha statues, a place showing a mixture of cultures and tourism.

Highly recommended! the buffet was huge and the transportation great! I would recommend to go up to the peak point with the trains and come down to the cable car by foot. A bit scary if you are afraid of heights but worth the visit!

We booked this only the day prior and it was such a good decision! Our driver was Trung and he was very helpful. We were initially going to go to Ta Van village and Alpine Coaster, but he advised us to go to the Glass Bridge instead in the morning bec it gets too crowded in the afternoon. He helped us buy tickets online, which was a blessing because we got to skip the REALLY long line of people buying on the spot. He also recommeded places for us to eat and have coffee in. My friends and I had a seamless time.

We took a tour with our guide, Sue! She took great care of us and was so kind that we were happy throughout the entire tour. If you come to Vietnam, you absolutely must visit Fansipan; you won't regret it. At first, I thought the cable car was a bit expensive, but since we were already there, we made the most of it by enjoying the cable car, the train to the summit, and the buffet. You'll see breathtaking scenery from the cable car that you might only see once in a lifetime, so definitely buy the combined ticket. The stairs to the summit looked steep, so I was glad we took the train. The buffet was also decent. Don't miss the glass bridge either; it would be a shame to skip it, so be sure to enjoy that too! We had a wonderful time. Vietnam is the best!

Highly recommended! 💕🌿 (JUST GOT A LITTLE SCARY BUT WITH A GOOD VIEW MOMENTS IN THE AIR CYCLING THE BIKE STOP WORKING IN THE MIDDLE BECAUSE THE CHAINS WERE REMOVED FROM ITS OWN BUT THE STAFF MOVED SO FAST TO RESCUE ME)

Miss Mai giang, our tourguide for today is very kind and informative. She explained nicely throughout the tour and helped everyone to take pictures. The tour itinerary is well-planned. I really like the foot soak with the drinks and enjoy the view after finishing the tour. This tour also suitable for elderly and children since it is not too tiring. Highly recommended this tour.

In Japan, there wasn't much information available about Fancipan, and this site mentioned that we should bring our own sleeping bags. So, I packed a lot of gear, including a thick sleeping pad, an aluminum thermal blanket, and down jacket and pants. Other hikers from different countries were traveling quite light, with backpacks of only about 10-20 liters. As it turned out, sleeping bags were provided at the hut, so the aluminum blanket wasn't necessary, but the down jacket and pants were useful because it got cold at night. I also brought 1.5 liters of water in a hydration pack, but after meeting the guide, I was given another 1.5 liters for the next day. This meant I ended up carrying 3 kilograms, which was heavy, but it was a hot and challenging trek later on, so I drank a lot of water and was glad to have it. On the way back, we waited about two hours for the ropeway to open and then took it down. I was a bit worried about not having enough cash, but the ropeway accepted credit cards, so there were no issues. The guide prepared delicious meals, but their guidance was minimal. However, they did look out for our safety.

Meeting place was at Grand Flamant Hotel and a driver was arranged to pick us up to the starting point. A guide was assigned to us but, unfortunately, he did not understand much English so the communication was sparse. The guide did prepare tasty meals for us during the journey. The hike was not easy as the terrain was pretty wet most of the time. Trekking sticks are highly recommended. Or the guide will likely make one for you along the way. The accommodation at 2800m was really basic and the sleeping bags provided are not the cleanest...
