Hotels in Minamiuonuma County

We stayed at Naeba Prince Hotel for our ski trip to Naeba Ski Resort. The ski-in/ski-out access was incredibly convenient. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to and from Echigo-Yuzawa Station (reservations required in advance), which takes about 30 minutes. The hotel staff were all very enthusiastic and helpful. We stayed in a Room Type 4 facing the ski slopes. Although the hotel clearly has a historical feel, being able to see the snow scenery outside the window at any time from the room was well worth it. Building 4 has ski equipment rental and lockers for guests to use. Additionally, guests receive a discount on lift tickets, but these must be purchased online in advance. There are many restaurants in each building of the hotel. We recommend joining the Seibu membership program to earn points on purchases made at the hotel, which can then be used to offset future expenses.

We chose the one-night, two-meal plan. The sashimi at the buffet dinner was fresh and the food was delicious (cold, in keeping with the Japanese style). It's very friendly for ski beginners. There are no snowboards suddenly rushing out on the slopes, catching you off guard. Equipment rental is also very convenient. After a day of practice with an instructor (privately hired), teenagers can go on intermediate slopes!

There was a Chinese-speaking receptionist who gave a very detailed introduction to the hotel and provided two coins for complimentary drinks. The kaiseki cuisine for breakfast and dinner was exquisitely presented, diverse, and delicious. The outdoor hot spring bath was incredibly relaxing and definitely worth experiencing.
