Good to know
Turn your sushi class into a full Tsukiji experience! Many market shops open early and close around 2 PM, so we recommend the 10:30 AM class if you'd also like to explore Tsukiji Market. Arrive a little early to walk around before your class, and bring some yen as some local shops only accept cash. After making your sushi bento, you'll still have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of Tokyo—many of our guests head to teamLab or other Tokyo attractions in the afternoon. It's an easy way to enjoy Tsukiji Market, hands-on sushi making, and more of Tokyo all in one day.
Reviews
I joined this sushi-making class on my own and was a little unsure at first, but I felt comfortable almost immediately. The instructor was really friendly, and the group had a relaxed atmosphere. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and I learned that the owner has deep connections with Tsukiji Market. It really showed in the quality of everything we used, from the fish to the real wasabi and Japanese knife. It felt much more special than a normal cooking class. I also loved making my own sushi bento. It was simple to follow, looked surprisingly good at the end, and tasted even better. It only takes about an hour, so it was perfect for fitting into a busy day in Tokyo. I would definitely recommend this to solo travelers who want to do something local, fun, and easy to join. One of my favorite experiences in Tokyo.

Great sushi-making experience! Fun, hands-on activity with friendly instructors and delicious sushi at the end. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try something unique in Japan. 🍣😊
Komi & Mia are wonderful hosts. The class is simple yet informative and perfect for all skill levels. Our preteen son had a great time as well. My husband and I do not order nigiri often back home, but the quality and freshness of the fish made all the difference here. My husband proclaimed that it was the best nigiri he’d had. We greatly enjoyed our self-made bento! Don’t hesitate to take the class with your entire family!
Mia and Masa were wonderful! The instructions were in clear English, the class was relatively quick but we learned some skills we will be happy to take home with us. I highly recommend!
