Asakusa Kimono Rental & Photography Experience (Provided by Kimono Rental Ouka, Tokyo)

I highly recommend coming to this shop on your next Japan trip! We did the couples yukata with the 30 minute photography and it was definitely worth the money! Ricky was our photographer and photos were sent via Line or WhatsApp and the guy said it would be 2 days, but sent it same day! He also ensured that the time time used where when he stylized and took our pictures, which was really nice, considering it was so busy. The ladies who dressed us up were very helpful, fast and efficient as well! Things to know prior is that the location is tucked away on the fourth floor and any additions can be charged between ¥1100+. Examples are: yukata fabrics, hairstyles and bigger sizes. My fiance is 6ft, so they charged him ¥1100 for big sizes. However that seems fair since Japan is generally smaller in stature, but just to give y’all a heads ups

This was definitely one of our favorite experiences in Japan. The staff was great and friendly. They showed us which kimonos we could choose from and then showed us which accessories came with it. They help put the Kimono on so that it is worn correctly to Japanese standards. Just a heads up- They wrap the waste/belly area very very tight and snug so please take the disclaimer about not doing this while pregnant seriously. Also, we got the wooden traditional sandals with our kimono set, and I will be honest, they are not the most comfortable and will hurt your feet pretty quickly. So I would recommend bringing your regular shoes with you when you’re walking and swap them out when it’s picture time. Trust me, your feet will thank you later. We also got a photographer (Ricky). He was great! Super nice, friendly, and very good with directing us how to pose. He had a ton a great locations that showed a great Japanese aesthetic and the pictures came out fantastic! 10/10 experience for us!

Me and my best friend decided to go for this shop, and have no regret! We truly enjoyed the whole session from A to Z. Shop is easy to find, it’s not far from Sensoji. Selection is more than enough for the amount we’ve paid. We did upgraded some of our kimono and hairdo, for a fair price of amount for what we like more. Staff and stylist were very friendly and helpful!

The staff were all so incredibly kind! 🥹 I'm Korean, but there were many staff members fluent in Chinese, and the kimono-dressing experts treated me warmly. Thank you for showering me with compliments and calling me cute! 💕💕

Enjoyed the couple photo-taking session in our kimono! All the staff were friendly and patient with us. The photographer even provided extra time despite the allocated half-hour being over. If you’re looking for an affordable kimono experience, I would definitely recommend this 😊

It is a very amazing experience wearing Japan Traditional Kimono. I love it so much. The hairstyle is lovely, i choose basic hairstyle and I really love looking at myself with the flower 🥰. Theres a lot of clothes and accessories to choose. Service is amazing as well.

incredible outfits to choose from. definitely book the photography. the pictures come out absolutely fantastic and so worth it. Lia who does haor and makeup is brilliant. i was over the moon with the results. we got compliments all day. couldnt be happier with this experience. one of the best in japan. Lia would be great to book outside of this too for haor and makeup. she is super professional and great at what she does. the photographer was so so good too. she helped us with poses and we are not photogenic at all. shocked at how amazing the pictures turned out. makes you feel like a model!
