The hotel villas and rooms are gorgeous while the foods were not that great. Considering the it's an inclusive resort, it would have been nice to taste the authentic Indonesian flavors instead of a bland taste that is catered toward most westerners. The communication were not great, for example ferry ticket discrepancy (it was quoted for 400K/RT/for 2 ppl but when we got to the ticket place it was for 1 person tix. After several confirmation prior to arrival at the place that it was 400K/RT/ for 2pp. Lost in translation even at the restaurant, we ordered for breakfast my husband got his breakfast and I never got my food. This was due to the mis-understanding with language barrier. It would been helpful if the staffs repeat the order or ask if everything was ok. The place is beautiful but nothing much around it; the nearest restaurant is probably another 30 mins taxi ride. The road is very narrow and windy; but once you get to the resort it is beautiful.

Otel çok güzel, yeri doğa ile iç içe çok güzel tek sorun hava şartları kötüyken feribotlara binmek baya zorlayıcı bir deneyim.

This place is a hidden gem. It is brand new on the east side of Penida island which is pretty remote. Takes a while to get here but once you are here it is golden. Best waitress ever is Jesika, a real sweetheart. In many places this facility would be 1K plus US per night. For the price it is awesome and close to some great hiking and hidden beaches. I rented a motorbike and rode all around the island which was absolutely fascinating, but really great to get back to the resort which has every comfort and great staff. I came for two nights and stayed for three. Do yourself a favor and, as Liz Lemon would say, "go to there".

A very special place on the quiet side of Penida, literally a sanctuary. Staff go above and beyond to make your stay the best it possibly can be. We loved the swim up bar, having breakfast on our villa balcony listening to the waves and watching the sunrise, having relaxing baths with a view & the delicious dinners in the restaurant. We were so sad to leave & only hope we get the chance to visit again some day :)

30 minutes from Sampalan Port and you feel like you’re in another world. Close to atuh and diamond beach. Only 45 to the more touristy side of the island if that is your vibe. Pool is beautiful and the room is dreamy! Good food at the restaurant and bar. The team is what made it special, especially Made Werdi! He was kind, remembered our names and our orders and is an interesting man. In his free time, he learned to scuba and is working for a non profit to replant the reefs! The only thing we would change is that we booked a few more nights here.

The resorts is brand new (only opened 8 weeks ago) and it is absolutely stunning. The restaurant and pool area is so peaceful and wherever you go in the resort you can hear the sound of the waves on the beach. There are only 10 rooms at the resort so it is never busy. The staff are always cheerful, attentive and helpful and the hospitality was incredible. The bar tender mixed us bespoke cocktails when we asked and was very knowledgeable. The rooms are stunning, with balconies overlooking the ocean. The view from the bath and the bathroom in particular are beautiful, but the open air toilet takes some getting used to! The breakfast menu is varied and delicious - the best we have had in Bali! As the resort is new, there are a couple of teething problems -the restaurant ran out of many food options (almost all desserts) while we were there. With regards to the menu, we would have preferred more local cuisine options rather than a westernised menu - that being said, all the food was delicious! Finally, the location is far from the ports and tourist traps. This may be inconvenient if you wish to travel arond the island a lot (about an hours drive to the port), HOWEVER the location makes it incredible tranquil, secluded and private. We absolutely loved our stay at Semaya and will definitely return next time we are in Indonesia.
