The check-in process was highly unsatisfactory. We strongly advise against making reservations through Klook. We believe we should have received a pass code and room number, but no such information was provided. The room itself, however, was excellent, clean, and its facilities were in good condition.

Nikko Station Hotel II, an excellent location right next to the station. The rooms are clean and comfortable, compact but complete. it’s near the station, the tourist bus stops and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. They let us check in early without additional payment.

Nice boutique hotel. Very friendly and cute staff. As they are not well versed in English, they use body language to communicate with us which make us understand what messages they are trying to convey. Room booking by default comes with bf which is good as I do not see any eateries nearby except a train station. Breakfast has limited variety and as I stayed only for 1 night so I am ok with that. You may also take your pick at the amenities at the lobby if what is in the room is not enough for your usage. Room wise is clean and comes with adequate amenities and has a bathtub too. Room size is just right for us as we only have 1 small luggage in the room. No issues on check in and check out as it is fuss free. Surprisingly, they do sell local Nikko food products inside the hotel which is convenient for the lot of us except the prices are slightly more expensive than outside. Other than that, it is a good place to stay and chill from the cold weather outside at 3 degrees. Thumbs up!

I highly recommend this hotel. The location alone receive a five stars. It is connected to the train station, mall, bus stop, convenience stores. the onsen Inside of the hotel makes your long travel day worthwhile. I also find that the bathhouse experience creates memorable bonds between people around you. Everyone was very respectful. Hotel is extremely clean and they even delivered new towels and waters to the room every day.

The onsen was great, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The food and drinks were also good. I recommend the tempura shrimp; it was delicious. I'm not sure why, but onsen hotels in Japan no longer have baggage handling services. Previously, staff would come out to greet you and help with your luggage as soon as the car arrived. The basement has a strong musty odor that needs improvement, which is the only reason I deducted some points.

Whenever I visit prefectures outside of Tokyo, I make sure to check whether the trip is covered by the JR Tokyo Wide Pass. For 15,000 yen for three days, this pass allows me to travel to various places without worrying about paying each time. It also allows me to take Shinkansen trains and get reserved seats to reach my destination faster. I highly recommend using the JR Tokyo Wide Pass and buying it in advance from Klook (super easy to claim from Narita airport). Plan your itinerary well and calculate if the pass is worth it. During this trip, I used it to visit Nikko on a day trip and Karuizawa on an overnight trip, plus used it on JR Lines within Tokyo. It was surely worth more than what I paid for, so it was definitely a good value.

Highly recommended! Convenient, comfortable, and clean. The seats are spacious and can be adjusted to face each other. You can bring your own drinks and snacks onboard. There's a cafe in the first carriage where you can buy drinks, but you can't sit and eat there; you have to return to your seat. The restrooms are very clean, and the vehicle is on time.
