Universal Cool Japan 2020
Anime fans, rejoice! Universal Cool Japan is back and better than ever.
Happening from 21st January to 28th June 2020 at Universal Studios Japan, this year’s Universal Cool Japan will feature XR rides and themed attractions based on fan favourites: Attack on Titan, Detective Conan, Lupin the Third, and Monster Hunter.
Attack on Titan
A fan-favourite since 2015, Attack on Titan is back in 2020 with its first ever XR ride. The Attack on Titan XR Ride is a fast-paced virtual reality coaster. Put on a pair of VR goggles and experience the anime like never before. A combination of a theme park ride and virtual reality, guests will find themselves surrounded by Survey Corps and Titans during the ride. Guests will also get to revisit and take photos at recreated iconic scenes in the anime.
Detective Conan World
Packed with four different attractions, fans of Detective Conan can experience the world of the anime with Detective Conan: The Escape. A themed escape room, guests get to solve mysteries with Conan and friends. Then, guests could embark on a detective experience in Detective Conan Mystery Challenge where they’ll explore the park and solve cases.
In its third year at Cool Japan, fans of this anime can dine at the Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant or experience for the first time ever, a story coaster featuring voices and sound effects from the anime in Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream The Ride.
Lupin the Third
Lupin the Third is back for Cool Japan 2020. This time, experience a street show as Lupin and his gang appear before your very eyes in Lupin the Third: The Live. Guests get to experience an action-filled getaway with an original, never before seen story happening right before them.
Monster Hunter
Since its first appearance at Cool Japan 2018, Monster Hunter is set to come back in the Spring of 2020 with a brand new attraction. In collaboration with Universal Studios Japan and utilizing state of the art VR technology, guests of this attraction will be able to fully enter the world of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
More details of this attraction will be released at a later date.
Cool Japan Express Pass
Universal Cool Japan is happening from 21st January to 28th June 2020, and entry is available with the purchase of a standard Universal Studios Japan ticket. However, if time is a premium and you’d like to explore the whole park in a day, you can skip all the lines at Universal Cool Japan with the Universal Cool Japan Express Pass*.
*Tickets for entry to Universal Studios Japan are not included with the Cool Japan Express Pass and have to be booked separately.
Booking your ticket through Klook offers a few benefits because Klook is one of Universal Studios Japan’s few official ticketing partners. This means that all tickets purchased on Klook will be honoured at the gate, at the price you see. You’ll also get instant confirmation of your ticket purchase, and on the day itself, you’ll get to skip the queues when you redeem your tickets.
There are other benefits, of course, such as that the entire Klook platform is in English, so there’s no chance of miscommunication, and if you have any specific questions, you can communicate with the operators easily.
Universal Studios Japan is also home to several other attractions. Once you’re done with the Cool Japan attractions, check out fan-favourites like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal Wonderland. The park houses other thrilling rides as well, like Jurassic Park – The Ride, and Jaws.
