Come Up With The Next Big Thing At Robot Land

The Kdrama “Start Up” has been receiving a lot of hype recently for how it relates to having a dream and doing all it takes to achieve it. Alongside the amazing characters and plot, Robot Land was in the centre of it all as one of the main filming locations of the drama, featured as the renowned Sandbox in the drama. Perhaps Korea’s own Silicon Valley wasn’t meant to be fictional all along.

Now that we’ve gotten our fair share of excitement, back in Songdo, there is a lot more in store. In the centre of it all is the Songdo Central Park inspired by the Central Park in New York. It boasts an impressive size spreading across more than 100 acres, and holds the reputation of the “Gangnam of Incheon”, giving you a hint of how diverse and vibrant the area is, and the variety of activities available. You may have seen the park as the backdrop of popular K-dramas “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” and “A Korean Odyssey”. Among glass and concrete, the park sets itself apart as one of the nation’s best green spaces and paints the city in a new light.

If you’re still not impressed by the sheer size and promises of a pleasant time, let us tell you that the park is host to a 1.8km seawater canal stretching from the east to the west. Navigating through the area is a highlight, as nothing says leisure more than renting a family boat, canoe, SUP (a rafting board you paddle standing up) or kayak to make your way through the waterways spanning across the park. They are available at the Songdo Komarine East Boat House. Alternatively, you can board the water taxi from the West Boat House for a chill ride under the sunset glow for a picturesque view of the surrounding landscape. During the ride, aside from the park’s scenery, you will gain a totally new perspective of the buildings and sculptures along the waterfront. On the water or on foot, here truly is something for everyone.

Along the bank, what’s fascinating is the mixture of neo-futuristic and sophisticated architecture in Songdo that challenges traditions in building design alongside traditional buildings scattered along the perimeter of the area. As you can expect, Songdo is proud of its chic and one of a kind cityscape. To get the full Songdo experience, we urge you to come back to Central Park at night when the city illuminates under the canopy of the moon, stars and iridescent man-made lights. That’s when you know a place truly lives up to the name of an international city.

Fitting enough, the Tri-bowl does resemble three cones with the wide bases facing skyward, giving the impression of bowls that scream modernity. The inspiration behind the building was to incorporate nature with contemporary structures in a spiral, spacious structure. The complex cultural space breaks the stereotype of buildings; Upon entrance, we assure you that you will not get the same feeling or ambiance elsewhere. There you can enjoy the culture and artistic displays in their theatres and public spaces. Similarly, this place gives off a different vibe at night when the exterior lights up.
