    Located less than an hour's drive from KL, Kuala Kubu Bharu is an accessible nature gem for the folks of Klang Valley. Dotted with waterfalls, historical sites, hills, and a charming old town, Kuala Kubu Bharu is great for those in search of some fresh air and an adrenaline rush. Popular activities here include white water rafting in the Hulu Selangor river, a refreshing dip in the Sungai Chilling Waterfall, hiking up Bukit Kutu, and stargazing at the Sungai Selangor Dam.

    Not many people know of the sleepy little town of Tanjung Sepat - this hidden gem located less than 2 hours from KL definitely deserves a bit more limelight. Named after a type of fish called Sepat, while there isn't really much to do in Tanjung Sepat, it's still fun and refreshing as a day trip destination away from the city.
    The former fishing town is home to an abundance of seafood restaurants, plantation farms, a quaint cultural street, and a popular beach. Many people also come here for their old-school traditional kopi, handmade paus, and seafood bak kut teh!

    4. Pulau Ketam

    Offering a glimpse of an idyllic fishing village stuck in time, Pulau Ketam promises a refreshing day away from the city. Simply drive your way to Port Klang and board a ferry, and you'll step foot in this laid-back little island within under an hour. Pulau Ketam is lots of fun to explore, and easy to get around by foot or by bicycle. We'd highly recommend the latter if you're looking to take your adventurous spirit up a notch!
    Pulau Ketam is dotted with homes built on stilts (many of have been repainted in bright colours), a collection of Chinese temples and seafood restaurants. Make sure you end your day with a seafood feast, you can get anything from chilli crab to steamed fish, fried sotong, to fresh shellfish at the restaurants here.

    Located on the north of Selangor in the Sabak Bernam district, Sekinchan is known for its sprawling paddy fields. This quiet coastal town rose in popularity after being featured in movies and TVB dramas, and has now become a popular day trip destination, especially amongst families.
    Be sure to plan your visit accordingly, or you may be disappointed to be greeted by bare, harvested fields instead of lush green ones!
