Claiming For Your COVID-19 Swab Test

Did you know that you can apply for a reimbursement of up to a maximum of RM300 for COVID-19 testing? The COVID-19 Test Fund (CTF) was established by the insurance and takaful industry in Malaysia, allowing medical insurance policyholders and takaful certificate holders to submit claims easily via the CTF portal after completing their COVID-19 swab tests!

The initiative was put in place to encourage more people who have no symptoms but may have reasons to get tested (e.g: if you have come into contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case) to do so. Find out the requirements to apply for a claim, and how much you can claim up to:

Requirements And Eligibility

Insurance policyholders and takaful participants with group/individual medical and health insurance policies and takaful certificates.

You must have done your COVID-19 swab test at one of the recognised private labs listed on MOH's COVID-19 website.

The reimbursement is limited to one test per person.

The reimbursement period is valid until 30 June 2021 or earlier, if the fund is fully utilized.

Prepare a clear scanned copy or photo image of these documents:

Receipt of payment for your COVID-19 test
Identity card (front & back)
Laboratory report
Completed COVID-19 Test Claim Form (download here) OR Doctor's Referral Letter/Medical Advisory Note for home testing services (DoctorOnCall/Doctor2U) OR Order For Supervision And Observation At Home Form issued by Ministry of Health (sample here).

2. Head to the COVID-19 Test Fund portal.

3. Complete the online form and upload all supporting documents as listed in (1).

4. If your claim is approved, you will receive your reimbursement within 14 days - reimbursed to the bank account you've provided.
