My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our tea ceremony experience and learning about its history. Also wearing the kimono added to the experience. Highly recommend this
Such a special and unique experience in a 150 year old twa house. Out lovely guide let pick which kimono i would like and helped us to take pictures. Great experience for anyone interested in tea ceremonies and Japanese etiquette
we think this was an amazing experience, definitely worth trying while you’re roaming around Kyoto 😁❤️

If you are interested in knowing more about tea ceremony in a heritage place with experience and lovely hosts, this is the tour for you. Add kimono/yukata rental for an unforgettable experience.
This was such a lovely experience, steeped in culture and tradition. We got a private tea ceremony and tour of the townhouse, with plenty of time for questions and to learn the history of tea ceremonies.
Futaya was a beautiful historical home. We were welcomed by Keiko San, a gentle, kind and humorous lady. She dressed me and my friends one by one- our first Kimono experience. She also conducted the tea ceremony for us, and showed us basics of the tea etiquette. We enjoyed the whole experience very much. Highly recommended!!
my son of ten was quite thrilled, this was the one thing he wanted to do in Japan. they were patient and accommodating with him. The staff acted with grace despite one person having main character syndrome and nearly getting a staff member in trouble who tried to graciously say no to them in order to help more arrivals.
this is a must for your trip to kyoto, the ladies were super friendly and knowledgeable - loved it 10/10!!
Great walkthrough of the 100 year old townhouse and tea ceremony history. Wearing the Kimono and partaking of the matcha tea ceremony were a treat!
