Tea Ceremony Explanation: To preserve the authentic and traditional Japanese cultural atmosphere, tea ceremony explanations are currently only available in English and Japanese. Opening Introduction: The tea ceremony master will introduce the historical origins, cultural connotations, and basic etiquette of the Japanese tea ceremony, giving you a preliminary understanding of it. Tea Ceremony Demonstration: The master will perform a complete tea ceremony demonstration, showcasing a series of actions such as boiling water, warming bowls, preparing tea powder, brewing tea, and stirring, allowing you to experience the ritual beauty of the tea ceremony. Hands-on Experience: Under the guidance of the master, you will personally experience the process of preparing tea, from grinding tea powder to whisking delicate tea foam, every step is full of fun. Tea Tasting and Exchange: Taste the matcha you prepared yourself, paired with wagashi (Japanese sweets), and exchange tea tasting experiences with other participants, sharing your insights into tea ceremony culture. Important Notes: Pregnancy restrictions: Due to the constraints of kimono attire and the kneeling etiquette required for the tea ceremony, pregnant women cannot be provided with kimono dressing or tea ceremony experience services. Gentle Reminder: The matcha experience requires a quiet atmosphere and is not suitable for infants and young children. We appreciate your understanding.

Reviews
we did the kimono rental experience with the tea ceremony. they had plenty of kimonos to choose from and the ladies who dress you up are really skilled in their craft - from wardrobe change to hairdressing. it was nice to be able to wear the kimonos outside after the class. it needed to be returned before 5pm which was plenty of time. the tea ceremony was a very beautiful experience. the ladies did a wonderful job in explaining the process and meaning behind the tradition and answered all our questions about matcha. I love how we were able to still take photos during the ceremony and the staff were nice to help take our photos in between the ceremony. they taught us the right way to wisk and appropriate tea ceremony behavior. I would truly recommend this experience to everyone!!
This was the highlight of our time in Kyoto, I had been looking forward to this experience and it did not disappoint. We loved dressing up in the traditional clothing and walking around before the Tea Ceremony to take photos. We then took photos after too. The attention to detail from the ladies getting us ready was amazing. During the Ceremony Yuna and Wei answered all of our questions too. A wonderful experience. I really reccomend.
The kimono dress up was a very nice experience and we got time to take photos outside before and after the ceremony. The tea ceremony itself was very relaxed and immersive and the staff are very nice and speak good English.
I had such a beautiful experience at this tea ceremony in Kyoto. From the moment I arrived, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I wore a traditional kimono, and they made the entire experience feel so special and authentic. The tea ceremony itself was peaceful, elegant, and truly memorable. Everything was explained with so much care, and you could really feel the meaning and tradition behind every detail. What made the experience even more special was how thoughtful they were throughout the entire ceremony — they took so many lovely photos and videos for me, which allowed me to fully enjoy the moment without worrying about my phone or content. They were genuinely so warm, attentive, and sweet, and they made me feel comfortable the whole time. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kyoto. It was honestly one of the highlights of my trip.
what a lovely experience to round out my Japan trip. I felt the most knowledgeable and beautiful after this experience. Everyone was so welcoming and informative. answering any questions I had about the ceremony and Japanese culture. I recommend this to anyone in Kyoto (especially since you get to wear the attire all day to take photos around town in).
We had an amazing experience! The women who dressed us in kimono were so nice and did an excellent job and were very detailed. The hair stylist was quick and did a great job! We felt very cared for. Picking out the kimono was fun and the host was helpful! the tea ceremony was so educational and detailed. the matcha was so good! thank you so much! we highly recommend!
Wonderful experience! Staff was fantastic! Arrive early as the kimono process takes about 30 minutes and they also do your hair! Our daughters are 9 and 12 and they really enjoyed getting glam and getting to take photos outside the shop before the tea ceremony. We enjoyed the tea ceremony and now know how to make matcha! Highly recommend if you are visiting Kyoto!
Extraordinary experience! The staff is warm, pleasant, and always attentive. They make the ceremony magnificent, authentic, and full of grace. An unforgettable moment to experience absolutely. Thank you very much ❤️
A very pleasant and enriching moment discovering Matcha! And how to serve it... an unforgettable moment.
I do the kimono and tea ceremony. The shop was easy to find and they were very nice and hand a lot of options to pick from. My mom is on the bigger end and she also had a good amount of options for her kimono. The tea ceremony it's self was very informative and they let your take pictures / helped you take picture of yourself when it came to the portion of the ceremony when you make the matcha yourself.
