Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony Experience in Kyoto

We enjoyed learning the respectful culture around a traditional tea ceremony. Her ability to teach us in Japanese and English was great for our group. We even got to experience whisking matcha ourselves. Highly recommend.

we loved the ceremonial piece of this tea ceremony. It was beautiful to just get a peek behind the curtain of true Japanese culture. The instructor is fantastic. We did a private tour which I would recommend, with kimonos.

Very nice tea ceremony experience with beautiful traditional kimonos and a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere! 😊 We learned about the tea culture and making, we tried different matcha teas and we could also try to make our own matcha tea. The tea ceremony was good. The tea master (not sure if a lady is also a master). she was very knowledgeable and explained it well. she also accommodated the guests who could not sit on the mat by giving stools. The Matcha was delicious and I would do it again. I loved the Kimono choices on offer.

This was an interesting experience, loved dressing up and being taken through the whole tea ceremony experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it, although my son was not a big fan of the taste. The location was easy to find and get to, close to other sightseeing opportunities, the instructor was very good, and gave us a real insight to the whole tea ceremony.
