Ha Noi City Tour & Water Puppet Show with Japanese-Speaking Guide

I participated in a one-day sightseeing tour of Hanoi (Japanese). The guide was Mr. Tho, who speaks Japanese (apparently known as Mr. Kotobuki in Japanese). In the morning, I learned about the history of Hanoi while visiting major tourist attractions, which was very educational. For lunch, we had pho from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The restaurant was very crowded, but the guide used his quick thinking and ordered takeout while we were drinking tea at a nearby friend's cafe. We were able to enjoy the pho slowly and without waiting at the cafe. After that, we had a foot massage, shopping at the supermarket, a stop at the market, a cyclo tour of the old town, and ate egg coffee and che. In the evening, we saw the water puppet show, and he got us great seats right in the center. It was worth seeing. Dinner was bun cha. Our guide, Mr. Tho, was very thoughtful and had a perfect sense of timing for the tour. During the tour, he gave us little tidbits of information, such as where to find delicious sticky rice and about the night market. After dinner, I declined the ride back to the hotel and strolled through the night market on my way back. It was a jam-packed tour from morning to night. There were breaks, so I didn't get tired. It was very good, but the foot massage shop included in the tour was not good. They were unfriendly, lacked customer service, and the room was untidy and looked like a storage room. I was charged a tip of 100,000 VND firmly. I would have preferred to pay a little more and be taken to a slightly better massage shop. There are other good massage shops for the same price. This tour is efficient and cost-effective, and I highly recommend it. It was fun and I was very satisfied.

I made a mistake with my booking, but our tour guide was so kind and gracious enough to acommodate us. We had an overall wonderful experience and learned a lot about the city.

It was very good. We were shown around the nice places in Hanoi in an easy-to-understand way. Both the guide and the driver did a great job. I would have liked it if dinner had been included. I would like to take a tour like that in the future.

Everything was well-organized, allowing us to use our time efficiently and comfortably. The cyclo ride was particularly memorable—being so close to the motorbikes and cars made it thrilling and unique, and it turned out to be a very special experience. Our Japanese-speaking guide, Mr.Su, was excellent. He explained things clearly and guided us smoothly, which made the entire tour comfortable and enjoyable. Dinner was delicious and came with a generous portion. They also accommodated our additional requests for a small extra fee (about ¥200–300 per person), which we appreciated. The only slight downside was that the Japanese narration in the puppet show was a bit difficult to hear. Overall, we were very satisfied and would recommend this tour.

Our Japanese guide, Tien, spoke good Japanese and was a humorous tourist guide, so we enjoyed the tour. It happened to be a private tour just for my husband and me, so they were flexible in changing the schedule, which was very helpful. They also paid close attention to heat protection and health management, so we were very satisfied with him as a tour guide. If we have the opportunity in the future, we would like to participate in KLOOk's cost-effective tours.

The water puppet show is a must-see! I was so impressed. I was traveling during typhoon season, but even though it was raining, they covered the cyclo with plastic so I didn't get wet. The bun cha was also really delicious! Our guide, Su, was friendly and a great person.

Since we are not very interested in shopping etc., we often had too much time on our hands, so I got the impression that we were killing time a lot. When I told my daughter that she doesn't like coffee, she was very flexible and even changed the drink to a soft drink. Overall, we had a fun day.
