I highly recommend this your. We were staying outside old quarter, the worse not was the taxi to the opera house. Once the tour started Minh was very knowledgeable. He lives around perfume pagoda and does tours 7 days a week. any questions, please ask him. athe your bus is comfy and the boat ride is relaxing. There are quite a few steps but it's so worth.
The vehicle was too small and cramped. I would have preferred a better car, even if it was a bit more expensive, but I booked it without knowing. The entire trip was exhausting. The guide's explanations were so long that I didn't have enough time to explore. The scenery was still nice, but this one trip was enough.
the tour is highly recmmended. we were picked up from hotel, more than an hour then took 10min electric car, boat, cable car and some walking. the boat ride was serene. we were the only ones on the river aside from locals in the morning but met incoming tourist in the afternoon. the pagoda complex is worth the travel especially the cave. we bought a couple of turtles to set free. a lot of shops are close. linch was great. tour guide david is well versed with place's history and folk tales. note that the cable car is not included in the package. please tip the boat lady. its hard work.
Recently embarked on a mesmerizing Perfume Pagoda day trip from Hanoi. The boat ride(around 1hr 15mins) to the pagoda was serene, and exploring the complex provided a unique cultural experience. Seamless arrangements made the trip stress-free, leaving me with cherished memories of a day well spent.
Minn is our guide for this tour, he is very accommodating and very passionate about his hometown's culture and history. This tour is rich in history, culture, and beliefs. I admire how they preserve everything, and respect nature.
What a fantastic day trip! Our guide Minh is so knowledgeable, he grew up in the perfume pagoda village so knows everything there is to know. He was patient in explaining everything and the pagoda itself is a wonderfully tranquil place. We went out of season in November on a stunningly beautiful day with cloudless blue sky. The history of the pagoda is so rich. We very much enjoyed the epic journey to it (bus, electric cart, boat, walk).
This was a really enjoyable and well organised day trip. Our guide, Minh, was really friendly and helpful, and explained a lot of really interesting things about the sites we visited, his English is also great! The location itself is also beautiful, and we got a good amount of free time to look around each of the areas we visited - it didn’t feel rushed at all. All of the transfers went very smoothly as well. Would definitely recommend.
beatiful views from up the mountain and inside the cave. our guide ming is a local there and you can feel that. He gave so much extra value with stories and explanations so we enjoyed much more then just the views. we went just outside festival time so the place wasn't crowded at all. do note that you will have to buy a cable car ticket as it is not included in the price no way around it. many caves and tamples on the compound we only see the main ones as seeing them all requires a multi-day trip.
I recommend the Perfume Pagoda tour. Our guide, Liam, was very passionate and knowledgeable. He took good care of each tour guest and even took photos for them. I talked a lot with him about my trip to Vietnam and he gave me a lot of advice.
Tourists can enjoy the scenery at standard tourist spots such as Halong Bay, Trang An, and Tam Coc, but this tour felt more like learning about the history of Vietnamese Buddhism than sightseeing. The explanations by our guide, Minh, were very easy to understand, and since it was a weekday in the off-season, there were not many people, so we were able to relax. The reason it wasn't perfect was that we all had to ride in an electric car from the tour bus parking lot to the boat dock, but it was inconvenient that it was not included in the tour price and was collected locally. The tour plan for the same group members included the electric car and cable car fees. I agree with choosing the cable car locally because some people want to walk, but I was skeptical about paying for the electric car locally, so I gave it 4 stars.
