What to expect
Discover Nagoya’s traditional craftsmanship with a hands-on Kuro Montsuki dyeing workshop, a technique perfected over 400 years for formal black kimono. Learn how artisans create the deep black fabric and imprint white family crests, symbols of heritage in Japan.
Guided by a craftsman, you’ll choose a kamon (family crest) and apply it to a black tenugui scarf, creating a one-of-a-kind souvenir. Versatile and meaningful, your tenugui can be used as an accessory, handkerchief, or wall hanging.
