Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall + Summer Palace Day Tour

This day trip to Mutianyu Great Wall and the Summer Palace was absolutely amazing! Definitely deserves a 5-star rating! Our guide was particularly interesting, explaining things in a way that wasn't boring at all. It was really engaging to listen, and they explained everything clearly, whether it was the history of the Great Wall or the stories of the Summer Palace, so I wasn't bored at all. Mutianyu Great Wall in winter has fewer people and the scenery is absolutely stunning! Climbing up and seeing that snow scene was truly breathtaking, I felt like a hero! The best part was the Summer Palace, Kunming Lake was frozen solid and had become a huge natural ice rink! It was so much fun! The Tower of Buddhist Incense and the Long Corridor also looked particularly beautiful in the snow, just like a painting. There were no random shopping stops or forced spending throughout the entire trip, so I felt very free to enjoy myself. I especially appreciate the guide's care along the way, it was very thoughtful. Overall, I had a super happy trip, highly recommended! I'll be looking for you guys again next time I come to Beijing!

🎈For us Southern sweet potatoes, this was the most worthwhile Beijing winter group tour ever! A real shout-out to our bilingual tour guide today: Christina CheChe, not only professional but also super dedicated 👍. She arranged the pickup driver perfectly the day before the trip and gave different tour suggestions to group members from all over the world along the way. From the Mutianyu Great Wall in the morning to the Summer Palace in the afternoon, no matter how many people were in the group, she would explain the historical allusions in detail and share interesting stories at each attraction, which was refreshing. Especially at sunset 🌅, she led us to check in at the Summer Palace's most beautiful Sunset 📸 right on time. In such a cold winter, she explained while rushing along, panting the whole way, just to make sure everyone could capture precious images. I was really touched 😘 to have met such a great guide, how lucky 💖!

For my first trip to Beijing, I signed up for this "Summer Palace + Great Wall" day tour, and I'm so satisfied! I sincerely recommend it to everyone! We went to the Summer Palace in the morning and the Great Wall in the afternoon, and I think this itinerary is really well-arranged. The morning sunlight was soft, and the scenery of the entire Summer Palace was super beautiful, perfect for taking photos and checking in. Every angle was like a postcard. In the afternoon, we went to the Great Wall, walking and admiring the sunset. The light and shadow on the city walls were really shocking, and there were relatively fewer people at this time, so even during the holiday, the overall experience was still very comfortable, without feeling particularly crowded. I especially want to praise our tour guide, Susie. She is so professional and dedicated! She explained the history and background knowledge to us along the way, and the content was very lively and interesting, which gave me a deeper understanding of these two attractions. Regardless of whether everyone was listening or not, she would explain very carefully, and from time to time she would also ask if everyone was keeping up and if they were tired, which was really thoughtful. Most importantly, she is also very good at taking pictures for everyone, knows where the best views are and how to take the best photos. She's completely a combination of a thoughtful travel companion and a professional photographer! In short, I had a super happy time on this trip today and made a lot of good memories. Not only was the scenery beautiful, but the experience was also very good. If anyone is coming to Beijing for the first time like me, I would really recommend this route. It has a high cost-performance ratio and a perfect experience!

loved the ease of choosing the pick up. our guide, Lucy, was very knowledgeable and caring. she gave us helpful tips to stay safe and warm. she gave lots of information about summer palace and about Cixi. the pacing is great. not rushed at all. it was a lovely view of the Great Wall as it was Beijing’s first snow!

The sunset in the Great Wall was amazing. It was also less crowded when we got there in the afternoon. My tour guide Jessie was very helpful and really knows how to communicate in English very well. She knows a lot about the history in Beijing.

The tour of the Great Wall of China and Summer Palace was fantastic with our guide Christina giving us great guidance and information at each location. One big tip is to avoid Monday’s as the taboggan and chairlifts will be extremely busy due to the other attractions in Beijing being close. Unfortunately due to the busyness we missed out on that. Otherwise the tour was very good and highly recommended.

Mutianyu Great Wall is simply spectacular! Less crowded than Badaling, with well-preserved sections and stunning views. The cable car up and slide down add fun. Lush greenery in summer and golden hues in autumn make it a year-round delight. Friendly staff and clear signage. A must-visit for a more authentic, scenic Great Wall experience. Highly recommend!

This was a great way to see two famous site in Beijing in just one day. The planning was quite good, but we did go over the planned time by about an hour (which I didn’t mind, but might be good to know). The transportation was great as there was AC and you could by beverages on the bus. Given that you don’t need to plan transportation or buying the tickets to these places yourself, it’s a pretty good deal. The only thing is that the cable car at the Great Wall is not included, neither is the boat ride at the Summer Palace (but you know this going in). The guide was also great, she gave a lot of information at the Summer Palace about its history.

A fantastic day exploring Beijing's gems! The Summer Palace dazzles with its stunning lakes, intricate pavilions, and serene gardens, pure tranquility. Then, the Great Wall at Badaling: breathtaking views, grand stone walls winding through mountains. Both show China's rich history. Guides were knowledgeable, transport smooth. A must-visit combo! Worth every step and minute. 5 stars all the way!
