For an unforgettable adventure, the latest tour I embarked on exceeded all expectations. From the moment we set off, the service was exceptional. The knowledgeable and friendly guide kept us engaged with captivating commentary. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the breathtaking view from the summit. Two of the activities were cancelled by the operator and I didn't get a refund for that. The waterfall was beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend this operator. Also it is very confusing that the title of the booking is Mt. Bromo, Ijen and Tumpak Sewu but you actually have to choose only 2 of 3... In the itinerary they show pictures of all 3 places, which was also very confusing for me. Also there are much cheaper options from other travel agencies in Malang.
This tour is not for foreigners. On the Bromo tour, nobody speaks any English whatsoever. You don't know what's happening, you don't know what to do or expect, absolute disaster. All the guests were Indonesian, so everyone, including the tour staff looked at me as if I was lost or didn't belong. There was nothing wrong with the Tumpak Sewu part of the tour, and overall it's probably a good experience for Indonesians, but foreigners should avoid, hence the 1 star rating.
We took the tour package which includes Tumpak Sewu and Moung Bromo. Our Tumpak Sewu guide Mr Bayu was really accommodating and even helped us take good photos and videos. He is very knowledgeable about Tumpak Sewu and was able to deliver us with knowledge about this marvelous waterfall. Mount Bromo was even more mind blowing with unique scenery of the volcano and its surroundings. This tour is highly recommended to all nature lovers.
