Things to do in Qimei

On Qimei Island, we chose to take the bus. It was a spacious, air-conditioned coach, which was very comfortable. We had 15-30 minutes at each scenic spot, which was plenty of time to take photos, and the tour was very efficient. The bus driver also acted as a tour guide, providing commentary while driving. Please note that this tour is not designed for foreigners and commentary is only provided in Chinese. As a Japanese speaker with only enough Chinese to understand meeting times, I was still able to participate in the tour without any issues. Seating on the ferry is open, and when traveling between islands, it's first-come, first-served again. Arriving earlier than the designated meeting time allows you to choose your preferred seat.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five-Star Review Booking the "Penghu Island Hopping: Qimei & Wang'an Day Tour" through Klook was truly a fantastic and unforgettable experience! Everything was perfectly arranged from start to finish, and I highly recommend it! ### Major Highlights: - **Rich Itinerary**: We visited two outlying islands, Qimei and Wang'an, in one day. The timing was excellent – not rushed, but never boring. Qimei's Twin Hearts Stone Weir, Wang'an's Heaven's Road, Little Taiwan, and the ancient grass-roofed houses – every single spot was so beautiful we couldn't stop taking photos! - **Flexible Transportation**: On the islands, you can choose to rent a scooter to explore on your own or take a sightseeing bus, both are very convenient. We opted for scooters, and riding around the island with the sea breeze blowing and the scenic views along the way was incredibly therapeutic. - **Comfortable Ferry**: The round-trip ferry was stable, and the staff were very friendly. Those prone to seasickness shouldn't worry too much. - **Tour Guide/Leader**: Our guide was friendly and professional, sharing local history and interesting anecdotes along the way, which gave us a deeper appreciation for Penghu's outlying islands. - **Excellent Value for Money**: Including ferry tickets, island transportation options, and transfers, the price was very reasonable, saving us the hassle of planning everything ourselves. This island-hopping tour truly allowed me to experience the pristine beauty and charm of Penghu's outlying islands. Blue skies, white sands, and turquoise waters – every photo turned out stunning! If you're visiting Penghu, I highly recommend adding this tour to your itinerary; you definitely won't regret it. **Strongly recommended to everyone!** I'd love to book this tour again next time I visit Penghu! 👍👍👍 (Already gave Klook a 5-star review)

Moon Bay diving really does have a purple lavender forest, but when I went on May 23rd, the water was still very cold, requiring a 3mm wetsuit. Without one, you could probably only stay in for about 30 minutes. Qimei has many attractions! You can spend a whole day enjoying water activities. The scooters are easy-to-ride gas-powered ones.

The meeting time was 20 minutes before departure, scheduled for 7:40 AM, but we actually departed at 8:00 AM because we were waiting for a group of tourists. There was a guide on the boat who stayed with us, for example, we'd agree on a time to follow her for a tour, and the service was pretty good. However, on the return trip, there was no commentary about the islands we cruised past! We had 1.5 hours at Dongji Island and 3 hours at Qimei (including self-arranged lunch), which was plenty of time! It was great—the whole island-hopping day trip wasn't expensive, highly recommended! 👍

Taking the bus is comfortable; you don't have to worry about sun or rain. We also had a professional tour guide who provided explanations and enthusiastically helped us find good angles for photos. When we arrived in Wang'an, they arranged a meal for us. It would be even better if we could have a bit more time at each attraction.

One of the highlights of our Penghu trip. Onboarding process was well coordinated, starting with friendly reminder messages from the staff, and the staff took the effort to check for any special considerations from us. Visited a couple of sea caves for photo points, then proceeded to Dongji island where most of the visitors got to scooter around the island. Having no motorbike licence, we were pleasantly surprised they got us a driver+buggy taking us around the scenic points on the island. We then proceeded to Jiangjun Ao island where tasty seafood porridge was served for lunch. Snorkeling gear and use instructions were provided. The afternoon was spent on water activities, snorkeling, jetski and SUP, the staff made sure to take care of safety and comfort level before engaging us on all activities. Ended with baked chicken meal. Very approachable staff, good level of upbeat interaction. Kudos to Xiao Jie, Xiao Lai, Hao hao, Da xiong & all the backend staff who just made this memorable.

First, we headed to Dongjiyu. The air conditioning on the boat was quite strong, so those who get cold easily should bring a jacket. The tour guide on Dongjiyu Island explained everything very clearly. The weather was great, perfect for taking photos! 👍 We could only see the Blue Cave from a distance and snap a few pictures; it was a bit of a shame that the lighting wasn't ideal. On Qimei Island, renting a scooter was more convenient. We rode around the outer loop and saw all the sights, which was very handy. The only minor inconvenience was that the scooters didn't have phone holders. Perhaps because it wasn't peak season yet, there weren't too many people, and we got some really great photos! 👍👍👍 I'll definitely find time to visit other islands next time.

As soon as the boat docked in Penghu, the tour guide called to inform us where the shuttle would pick us up, and also explained many important details on the bus.

This package is a good deal as it covers the flights from Songshan to Magong, transport from every stop, 2 nights hotel, guided activities, and some meals. I think eating was really the biggest highlight for us as we didn’t pick the water activities. We chose to do the island hopping and it’s quite chill walking around the small islands. The Magong guide (Wen Yi) was hardworking and communicative. It’s very organized as the agencies combine different travelers together from different itineraries. No complaints! You should speak Chinese as I didn’t see many English speaking guides and you should be prepared for the heat in July and extreme sunlight.
