Things to do in Tran Quoc Pagoda

To wrap up our Sapa trip with my nieces and nephews living in Hanoi, Vietnam, we took a one-day city tour bus around Hanoi. I was a bit worried because it had been raining since morning, but we decided to go out and wait it out over lunch. The weather cleared up, so we immediately booked tickets, exchanged them at the booth, and boarded the bus, which was incredibly convenient. The city tour was enjoyable and informative, with audio commentary available in various languages via headphones at each famous spot, and the estimated one-hour duration flew by. I was very satisfied with the open-air view from the second floor and the air conditioning, which made it comfortable even in the hot midday sun.

Honestly such a solid afternoon. Tran Quoc Pagoda was super peaceful and the temple of literature is a must-see for the architecture alone. Hoa Lo prison was pretty intense but really eye-opening... definitely glad we had a guide to explain everything. perfect way to spend a few hours if u want to see the main spots without walking everywhere yourself. totally worth it!

I had a good experience. I was able to see the significant landmarks of Hanoi. I had a wrong timing because it was too hot that time. I suggest that you take the bus around 5:00 PM onwards and see the landmarks with the lights on.

Pietro was such an amazing tour guide. From the moment we arrived on the bus he was full of energy and very charismatic. He made sure to give us a thorough understanding of each place we visited so we knew the history and importance of the place. We got lucky with a small tour since this is off season for tourists, and this was actually really nice because we got to ask all the questions we wanted. He took really great photos of us and took us to a really nice spot for lunch, explaining all of the foods we tried beforehand. We will probably go back to that restaurant a few times before I leave! Thank you Pietro! Don’t hesitate to book this tour, you won’t regret it.

Our Tour Guide was Travis and our Driver was Mr Ming. Travis did an awesome job of keeping the whole trip entertaining by giving us a good and in-depth explanation of the history of each famous destination of Vietnam with great English! Mr Ming was able to being us to each destination quickly and effeciently with safety. Even with the jeep being manual drive, the ride was pretty smooth. Both also took the care and time to ensure everyone was safe. We were even given free ponchos to protect us from the rain. Overall, both of the did a great job to make our experience the best even with the rain.

I apologize for the lack of communication; my phone was stolen. Thank you for still coming to the hotel on time despite the situation. It was incredibly helpful that you assisted me with the process of issuing my return flight ticket, even though it was unrelated to the tour. Although I participated alone this time, I was very satisfied as I was able to visit the places I wanted to see and do some shopping. Since I didn't have my phone, I couldn't take any pictures, but the guide took many for me. I would be delighted if you could send them to me, as I haven't been able to contact you since. It was a great tour overall! We covered a lot of ground but it also did not feel rushed. Our tour guide Hue (Lily) was great! She was super knowledgeable about many historical things and tidbits on Hanoi and you can feel her enthusiasm in wanting to share it. Worth a try if you have a day to spend going on a tour :)

It was a nice experience, our lunch was delicious, and we learned about Vietnam's history from our tour guide, Mr. Ahn.
