First off, even though I don't speak Japanese, the guide communicated with me using a translator, so I didn't feel burdened! (Of course, it's even better if you can understand and speak even a little bit!) The guide explained the Aso area very well and adjusted the schedule to meet the needs of my family, allowing us to experience Aso in a variety of ways! Plus, they made us feel so comfortable, it was like having a friend show us around their neighborhood. They enthusiastically took photos at every photo spot and provided great historical and additional explanations for each location. Both myself and my family were very satisfied with the tour! Thank you Kenzo Minami for the wonderful guidance!

On November 23, I chose this in-depth tour of Aso and spent an unforgettable day. In the morning, I climbed onto the majestic Aso Volcano. Standing on the edge of the crater, watching the smoking scene and listening to the Chinese tour guide’s detailed explanation, I deeply realized the mystery and magnificence of nature. Then, I came to Cao Qianli. I also learned from the explanation that the monks and ascetics of 37fang51an Temple guard this land, suppress the volcanic eruption with their thoughts, and pray for the blessings of all people with their bodies. Let me casually put my hands together to pay tribute to their sacrifice. In the afternoon, I visited Aso Shrine. The in-depth travel guide also arranged to enter the shrine for a prayer ceremony. You can imagine that people 2000 years ago performed the same ritual to pray for blessings! Finally, I walked into the shopping street and tasted the famous Aka beef meal and the water-based spring. These springs seep through layers of volcanic lava from Mount Aso and flow down the mountain to gush out. Unexpectedly, the water in your mouth has traveled hundreds of years to meet you here. During this trip, through the tour guide’s detailed explanation of the history, I got to know Aso again.

This itinerary is different from other one-day itineraries. It is arranged by the Japan Kumamoto Tourism Bureau. There is no tour guide or tour bus. You have to drive to all designated places by yourself. We actually followed the time schedule of the itinerary. Personally, I think the time spent at each scenic spot was well arranged. It is a pity that the crater can only be viewed for half an hour. Some people think it is a pity, but it was actually very cold that day. Personally, I think it takes half an hour to view the crater. In fact, it’s almost the same! Next, we went to Sosenri to have lunch and enjoy the scenery. The lunch was delicious. My family members who were traveling with us liked it very much. The scenery of Sosenri was beautiful and you could even ride a horse. It is recommended that you go to the observation deck and walk on the grassland. It will take about three hours at Aso Station in the afternoon. We chose to go to Aso Shrine. We can take JR or bus for a while. The shrine is also very spectacular. After seeing it, we can also go around the nearby shopping streets. The itinerary is quite rich! There was a traffic jam on the return trip, so I arrived at Hakata Station one hour later than expected, but there was nothing I could do about it, so I won't give a negative review. As long as each ride is mentioned in the itinerary, you can show it to the driver for confirmation, which is very convenient!

Booked for day trip to Takachiho Gorge and Mount Aso from Kumamoto, visiting various shrines along the way. Scenery along the way was gorgeous. Driver, Mr. Liu, is friendly and drives safely. Vehicle is clean and spacious. Lunch recommendation was good.

Our tour guide was David and he was amazing!! Gave some insights and recommendations. We were lucky to see Mt. Fuji the whole trip and before we head back it started snowing which was an awesome experience.

Our tour guide Xi was nice, organised and gave good tips during the tour of where to go and what to try. His recommendations were spot on especially the egg pudding in Shiragawa. Get in early to get the original pudding to avoid disappointment. We managed to still get the coffee and custard and they were delicious! It snowed and was magical. Don't forget to wear appropriate footwear as sleet and water can get into your sneakers, otherwise we had the best day!

Thank you, Joyce, for helping us understand the local geography, environment, and culture of Aso. We were deeply impressed by the lifestyle of the residents living alongside Mount Aso. In addition, we appreciate Joyce's thoughtfulness in helping us inquire about restaurants that offer vegetarian options, which made this trip even better. Thank you, Joyce!

The activity purchased this time is a one-day tour of Mount Aso without a guide. After the event is confirmed, you will receive an itinerary, and you need to follow the itinerary and take the bus that day. Every time you get on and off the bus, you need to show your itinerary to the driver for review. The whole process is very smooth, eliminating the need to arrange your own itinerary and adjust the driving time, and it is also cheaper than buying the tickets yourself. But please note that the crater bus is not included. The activity also includes lunch at a restaurant near the Crater Museum. The restaurant prices are relatively expensive, so the activity package is a great value. The Aka Beef burger meal was richer than I expected, tasted good, and there was coffee at the end! It was really chilly to enjoy lunch in Cao Qianli (except for the sun on the left). Unfortunately, the time spent in the crater was relatively short, probably less than half an hour. In the end, I had to wait for the return bus at Aso Station for 3 hours. During that time, I could make my own arrangements to go to Aso Shrine. Unfortunately, I was not interested in the shrine, so I went to soak in a nearby hot spring and buy souvenirs! 😆Overall it is a very good experience and worth recommending!
