Things to do in Hualien

Very fun sightseeing activity, though sightings are more likely to be dolphins than whales. Transfers are highly recommended (if not mandatory) unless you’re driving, as the location isn’t very accessible. There’s a 15 to 30 minute educational briefing on commonly seen whale and dolphin species at their visitor area before being driven to the dock. The boat is clean and well-maintained. I strongly recommend queuing early once you reach the dock to access the boat’s second floor, which offers clearer views and is less crowded (limited to 10 people). Time spent at sea depends on conditions and may be around 1 hour or less, which is understandable. Highly recommended!

No whale only dolphins.. so sad that is also raining, not so many dolphins.

We spent 2 hours on the boat and we saw dolphins! Before, we had a briefing about the different species (but as it was in chinese, we didn't understand, same for the instructions on the boat). The team tried to find the whales, but as many on the previous reviews, we didn't succeed. It's ok, we were happy to see dolphins! Also, the car was on time for pick up, everything was fluid.

Our guide, A-Jie, is a very dedicated person. He is meticulous, conscientious, and incredibly professional. He made my elderly parents and me feel so welcome and comfortable. Even though we were his only group, he was still incredibly attentive and made us feel at ease.

This trip was fantastic! Our tour guide, Mr. Xu, did an excellent job arranging everything for us, allowing us to fully experience the romance of the Pacific. We saw the crystal-clear waters of Qixingtan at its best in the morning, spotted dolphins during our boat trip, and the ocean color at Qingshui Cliff was truly mysterious and beautiful. He also shared some local insights, giving us a deeper understanding of the area. Thank you very much! ^_^♪

Enjoy your visit to the Taroko Gorge, even though most of the trails are closed due to the 2024 earthquake. It's still a pleasant experience with a few stops along the way. Thanks to Josephine for her explanations and her sense of humor.

Upward is a very professional team! From the station pickup to the rafting experience, everything was wonderful! The kids had a blast playing in the water too! First time visiting Farglory Ocean Park, and it's more worthwhile than expected! You can easily spend the whole day here 👍🏻. Besides the marine life exhibits, there are various shows and close-up interactions. I highly recommend seeing the mermaid show (not included in the ticket price, you need to buy a separate ticket, it's recommended to buy it at the entrance using the self-service machine, otherwise it might be sold out). The amusement facilities are also suitable for families, and the sea view from the cable car is basically a mini Busan 😂. The only downside is that some of the attractions and facilities might not be open due to insufficient crowds. But the staff are all super enthusiastic!
