Reviews
Reviews summaryThe itinerary was rich and well-timed. Itinerary: On the first day, we had a relaxed 3-hour hike, followed by a buffet dinner and hot spring bath at the hotel. I recommend setting aside time to grab a bite near Kappa Bridge. The second day primarily involved taking various modes of transportation up the mountain and enjoying the scenery. The entire trip was comfortable and easy to complete. Accommodation: We were arranged to stay at the Hakuba Tokyu Resort, a hot spring hotel. It was a bit old but comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Tour Guide: The only minor drawback was that the tour guide didn't pay much attention to the guests, and communication could be improved. Meeting points were not communicated clearly or were changed arbitrarily. For example, on several occasions, we were told to wait at a shop entrance, but the guide would then just get on the tour bus themselves.
We were very lucky with the weather. The views are amazing and it's a good price if you want to avoid the hassle of doing DIY. Me and my mom are the only english speaking part of the group but we didn't feel lost. Our guide was accomodating and gave us adequate time for pictures, especially in Kamikochi. The hotel is also a plus. It gives off cozy winter cabin, even if it's summer, it felt like a different season there - with the old winter olympics memorabilia at the walls. I especially liked the free onsen and the buffet with local specialties. It's delicious and refreshing after a day of hiking. This is one of, if not, my favorite group tour in Japan.
family of 2 adults & 1 toddler, we booked our Japan trip mainly for this and i must say, it’s worth it! we met up in JR Station Nagoya, the sign/flag tho is a bit small and if you’re not paying attention, you might miss it. Our bus had technical issue and had to transfer bus and got us delayed for more than an hour but no worries as we still enjoyed and had enough time to explore Kamikochi. i’m very happy we got to stay at Green Plaza Hotel, i was really eyeing for this resort. i saw some reviews that they stayed at a different hotel. altho i wish we couldve stayed longer there. place is really nice and food selection from buffet is really good. on day 2, we had enough time to explore tateyama. kudos to our guide because our group was always first in line and all transfers were smooth and hassle free. if theres one thing i would suggest, offer lunch box as there are limited options and too many tourist lining up to get food from few restaurants. but overall, will recommend this tour!
I went with guide Kaku. I was the only Korean, and Kaku communicated and guided me in English separately. He also communicated in Korean through KakaoTalk, so there was no problem at all during the two-day tour. The guide fee includes the Tateyama Alpine Route tour transportation fee and one-night hotel fee. The Kamikochi tour was held on the first day, and the weather was very good, so I was able to have a great experience. The hotel includes dinner and breakfast the next day, and a variety of delicious foods are prepared in a buffet format. The Alpine Route tour gave me more free time to explore than I thought, and the flow of the tour was very smooth. Originally, I was going to do the Alpine Route tour through another platform in Korea, but this tour felt more attractive in terms of price and professionalism. If there are any Koreans who are considering this tour, I highly recommend it. I am grateful that I was able to beautifully conclude my last trip to Nagoya!! Once again, I would like to thank tour guide Kaku.
I highly recommend this two-day tour. My family and I are very satisfied. Our tour guide was Xiao Xi, who was very professional and eloquent. He explained all the precautions clearly, was happy to introduce the attractions and food, and helped us take several photos. I am really grateful to him and the driver for giving us a wonderful journey. The itinerary at Kurobe Tateyama was tight, requiring six modes of transportation. There were many people on the mountain, but the tour guide managed the time well, the process was smooth, and there was enough time to stay at each attraction. Kamikochi on the first day was very beautiful. We walked from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge. The trail was easy, the breeze was gentle, and the scenery was beautiful. The hotel we stayed in Hakuba Village that night was the Mominoki Hotel. It was super beautiful. It was the place where athletes were entertained during the Olympics. Although the building is very historic, the lobby and rooms are very clean, and there is also a hot spring. I took a bath in it once in the evening and once in the morning. My whole body felt warm and comfortable. After the bath, I had a glass of ice milk. It was really enjoyable. The dinner included in the itinerary was a buffet in the hotel. The dishes were rich, the sashimi and scallops were fresh, the steak was delicious, and the waiters were very international. Breakfast is also a buffet, but because we had to coordinate with the Kurobe Tateyama schedule, we only had 20 minutes to eat, which was a bit of a shame because the food was delicious but we didn't have time to eat it slowly. The snow scene at Kurobe Tateyama is super beautiful and spectacular. The snow wall is very cool and worth a visit, but it was a bit of a mistake. I thought it would be cold but it turned out to be quite hot. I only needed a thin jacket (date 5/22/2025). Kamikochi and Kurobe-Tateyama are both very far away, and the overall ride time is very long, but there will be a rest stop every 1-2 hours. The space in the minibus is not big, so this part is a bit more difficult. In summary, I highly recommend this itinerary. It is easy and does not require any planning. Just follow the tour guide to explore two famous attractions in Nagoya.
The two-day and one-night itinerary is quite rich. On the first day, we arrived in Kamikochi and had plenty of time to visit scenic spots such as Kappa Bridge and Taisho Pond. The hotel we stayed in that night was in Baima, which was where the athletes of the 1998 Winter Olympics stayed. The hotel layout has a European nostalgic flavor and offers a buffet in the evening. We gathered very early the next day, but we all wanted to get to Tateyama Kurobe as soon as possible. The weather was nice that day, the sun was shining, and all kinds of transportation were smooth. We could clearly see the snow wall, Kurobe Reservoir and other scenery, and even encountered a sea of clouds! The leader was also very considerate and would send text messages to inform the gathering time, and the driver was also stable in driving. At first I thought three thousand dollars was a bit expensive, but after the tour I realized it was worth it!
Recommended itinerary 💞 Fortunately, I met an experienced driver, a caring, caring and careful tour guide 🌻 Little regret is that due to heavy rain, Kamikochi closed the mountain, and the tour guide received instructions to change the itinerary on the way. Transferred to Takayama City and Baichuan Township. Although I have only been there two days ago, because it is a different tour guide, the punching points introduced are also different, so I can do a more in-depth tour The whole group is very cooperative, so the journey is smooth and enjoyable. The snow wall may not be higher than before, but it is still shocking. The scenery is beautiful and worth a visit. Special thanks to Ms. Yanzi, the tour guide, for making this journey full of joy😆
great tour! Ricky our tour guide is very caring! He speaks English & Mandarin fluently! i will book klook again on our future trips! thank you Klook! 5 star!
excellent tour. the guide helps to sort out all the tickets and its a fuss free tour. Kamikochi is beautiful and alpine route is definitely worth a visit.
The itinerary was very rich, but I regretted not being able to go out to Snow Valley due to heavy rain. The tour guide tried his best throughout the whole journey and could accommodate dozens of people by himself. The hot spring hotel and buffet we stayed at (dinner on the first day + breakfast on the second day) were also good. When returning to Nagoya, the bus stayed at the rest stop for up to 6 hours due to heavy rain. I suggest that your company can think of more solutions, such as taking customers to nearby railways and subsidizing customers to use other transportation methods to return to their destinations. Understand the requirements Put safety first, but think more about solutions. All in all, if the weather is good, the entire trip is very cost-effective and is a highly recommended activity.
Good to know
- As the itinerary coincides with a busy holiday period in Japan, sightseeing spots are expected to be crowded, and stay times may be adjusted accordingly. In case of significant return delays, please be prepared to cover the cost of accommodation and taxi fares on your own
- Please refrain from picking any flowers or plants while climbing Tateyama Kurobe, and remember to take your trash with you
- As there are no toilets available during the journey, we advise using the restrooms at the station, hotel, or other designated areas prior to departure
- Mobile phone signal is weak in most parts of the mountain except for hotels, stations, and other specified areas. For better battery conservation, it's advisable to turn off your mobile phone
- Since the operator will be arranging the accommodation at Hakuba, customers have no option to select their preferred hotel
- Lunch and breakfast will be buffet meals. For some early departure groups, breakfast will be served as energy bar and bread instead of eating in the hotel
