Reviews
We participated in a well-organised day tour with JRT guided by Jimmy. As Mt Aso was billowing smoke, we could not get up to the crater and the itinerary was revised to visit Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine instead. We enjoyed the vast green fields at Kusasenri, good weather at Takachiho Gorge and the day tour was made even more enjoyable with the tour guide's humor. Jimmy made sure the group kept to the time and gave good tips on how to beat the crowd. His jokes definitely made the long bus rides less tiring!
We had an amazing experience on our tour to Mount Aso and the surrounding areas in Fukuoka today. Our tour guide, Jimmy Liu, was incredibly open-minded, friendly, funny, and welcoming throughout the entire trip. He created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that the whole group felt comfortable from the start. What we especially appreciated was that we never felt rushed. We had enough time at every stop to properly explore, take photos, enjoy the scenery, and really experience each location instead of just quickly moving from place to place. The organization of the tour felt very balanced and thoughtful. Jimmy also shared interesting information in a very entertaining way and made the entire day genuinely fun. You can really tell that he enjoys what he does and cares about giving people a great experience. Highly recommended if you are visiting the Fukuoka / Mount Aso area — this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Greetings from Germany, Niklas.
Highly-recommended tour! The sites visited were very beautiful; it’s very good if you want to get some fresh air. It rained when we were in Takachicho Gorge but we still enjoyed the trip very much. Eichii-san is very knowledgeable and cares a lot about the guests. The driver Kimura-san is also very nice and patient.
Very well planned tour, we didn’t feel rush and were lucky enough to see all the sights under great weather. Our tour guide was Kevin and we couldn’t ask for a better one, he has great humor, explanation and very responsible to ensure everyone is taken care of. It’s one of the best day tour you can get if you have a free day in Fukuoka area to experience the nature! (But definitely check the weather first!)
Despite the rainy weather, our day trip to Mount Aso, Takachiho, and Kumano Shrine was a very good experience overall. Our guide, EIICHI, was incredibly dedicated, providing bilingual explanations and introductions throughout the journey, which allowed us to learn about local Japanese culture even on a day trip. He was also very friendly and thoughtful towards elderly travelers, constantly reminding them to be careful and suggesting places to rest. The overall atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable, and we had ample time at each attraction to explore, look around, and take photos. The driver also drove safely and smoothly, making the ride comfortable enough to sleep without getting carsick.
this daytrip has been the highlight of my 3-week kyushu round vacation. takachiho gorge is beautiful, though it was such a pity that mount aso is still closed and we can only barely see it fr afar at kusasenri. It will be better to shorten the time at kusasenri plains since there is nothing much to see and allow more time at takachiho gorge area as it was so crowded and there is also a bit hiking n queuing for the boats which makes it very rush for passengers taking aso boy train (I had to miss my lunch and rush to take the bus to the train station which is totally unexpected). Nonetheless our guide Yang Meng did her best to make sure all of the participants are safe and enjoy their trip as much as possible! thanks!!
I had the great pleasure of joining this one-day local tour. The guide, CoCo, is very friendly and detailed. She sent me the contact details, itinerary, and some useful tips via WhatsApp the day before the trip. Despite the light rain on the day of the trip, it was still enjoyable, and I managed to capture many beautiful photos. Thanks again to CoCo.
★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars ★★★★★ This is a suburban tour I chose to make our Fukuoka trip with my parents even better. I was looking for a place with better scenery than Yufuin and decided on this! However, when I wanted to go on a specific route, there was no Korean guide, and when I found a tour with a Korean guide, it didn't include all the places I wanted. After much deliberation, I decided to forgo a Korean guide and chose the Takachiho and Kusasenri itinerary, and that's when I met Guide Ohashi! At first, I went expecting the Takachiho Gorge, but I completely fell in love with Kusasenri's cool breeze and scenery in the highlands. My parents were also very satisfied, and we took wonderful photos with the family. I wasn't expecting a Korean explanation at all, but thanks to the wonderful Guide Ohashi, who spoke so well, the trip was much more enjoyable. He was incredibly kind, his explanations were very detailed, and the atmosphere was so much fun. The tour itinerary was also very substantial, and even though there weren't many Koreans, it was a very fun and informative time with a Korean-speaking guide. It seems like it's not very well-known among Koreans, but I highly, highly recommend it to my fellow Koreans. The information the guide provided in advance made the trip safe and very enjoyable. Thank you so much ~!
Lily is an incredibly trustworthy tour guide! She explained all the details very thoroughly, and her speech was perfectly clear, with a pleasant voice and appropriate pace. She constantly checked in with the group to see if anyone had questions or needed assistance. Even when we encountered unpredictable weather at Mount Aso Kusasenri, she proactively helped us arrange a stop at another scenic spot, Komezuka, for photos. On the way back, she also recommended delicious restaurants in Fukuoka! The entire trip felt incredibly safe and comfortable, and I would love to have Lily as my guide again in the future!
The transportation costs were well worth it, and with the buy-one-get-one-free offer, it was an unbeatable deal. Our tour guide, Jimmy, explained everything thoroughly and was very witty and humorous. The weather was also perfect, and the scenery was breathtaking. On the way back, we encountered a major traffic jam, which was an unforeseen circumstance 🙂↕️. Many thanks to Jimmy for leading us on this trip; we truly had a wonderful time.
