What to expect
Kyushu Dream Trip: Hot Springs, Shrines, and Retro Train Journey, immerse yourself in Kyushu's cultural heritage and natural beauty, embarking on a gentle and poetic healing journey 🌿
- Start your morning at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine ⛩️, the head shrine of all Tenmangu shrines in Japan, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of scholarship. Stroll between the vermilion-lacquered main hall and the shrine garden, where seasonal flowers bloom in rotation, with the plum blossom season being particularly romantic.
- At noon, head to Beppu Ropeway (closed for maintenance from June 22nd to July 17th, 2026; during this period, it will be replaced by Umi Jigoku) 🚡, connecting Beppu and Mount Tsurumi. Take the ropeway to overlook Beppu Bay and the beautiful mountains. There are observation decks and walking trails at the summit, offering 360° views of the changing natural scenery throughout the seasons. It's cool and refreshing in summer, covered in red leaves in autumn, and a fairytale-like snowy landscape in winter. If the ropeway is closed, you can also visit Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) hot spring instead, to experience the bubbling blue-green spring water up close and witness Beppu's unique hot spring spectacle.
- In the afternoon, arrive at Yufuin Town 🏞️, and savor local desserts, coffee, and specialty foods. Lake Kinrin is often shrouded in mist, creating a dreamlike atmosphere, and the torii gate by the lake with its reflection adds a mysterious touch to photos 📸.
Of course, the most attractive part of this activity is Yufuin no Mori! Return Yufuin no Mori train schedule (Yufuin to Fukuoka, optional return on the second day):
- Train 1: 15:56 to 18:10
- Train 2: 17:17 to 19:28 (Considering playtime, this train is recommended)
Yufuin no Mori is a popular sightseeing train connecting Hakata and Yufuin, with a lush green body and a retro forest style 🌿
* On this day, from historic shrines and bay views to a pastoral town and hot springs, every step is filled with natural, cultural, and creative imagery, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in Kyushu's unique romantic atmosphere 💛.

Reviews summaryOn June 21, 2026, my family and I took Klook's Kyushu day tour (Yufuin no Mori, Dazaifu, Beppu Ropeway, etc.). The itinerary was incredibly rich and fulfilling, and the best part was meeting our tour guide, Lina! Lina was absolutely wonderful, taking meticulous care of us throughout the entire trip. Since my elderly mother was with us, Lina always paid special attention and actively assisted her every time we got on and off the bus, making my mother feel very safe and respected. What surprised and touched us even more was that Lina also very fortunately gave my daughter a yukata experience. Seeing my daughter so happy in her yukata truly added the most beautiful memory to our trip! Furthermore, Lina was very enthusiastic about recommending local delicacies along the way, ensuring we had no bad food experiences and ate very satisfying meals. Her photos were also taken from excellent angles. The entire day's itinerary was smooth, and we didn't feel tired at all. If you come to Kyushu, having Lina as your tour guide would definitely be the happiest thing! Thank you, Lina, for giving our whole family such a perfect day!
We were late for the trip, and met up the tour guide at the dazaifu metro station. It was really nice to have our tour guide, Lina as our guide on this trip. She communicated well, waited for us at the station and guide us to the bas. Along the journey, explanation will be given by the tour guide as well so you get some info and know what to do next. It was absolutely a great trip, we went to beppu and yufuin floral village, saw some nice scenery and have some food. It was tsuyu season so expect some rain during the journey. For the time schedule, it was on time and everyone also get on time. Overall, thumbs up to this trip! 🙌👍👍
I recently took the Dazaifu + Yufuin + Beppu day tour. Overall, the itinerary was well-planned, and the attractions were definitely worth visiting. However, it rained all day, which certainly impacted the experience and my mood. The planned cable car ride was canceled due to a typhoon and replaced with a visit to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), which was a bit disappointing. Still, the attraction itself was unique, though it would have been more complete if we could have stuck to the original plan. Yufuin itself is beautiful, but with the constant rain that day, walking around the town was a bit inconvenient, and I couldn't browse or take photos at my leisure, which slightly diminished the overall experience. Despite the weather and itinerary changes, the tour guide was excellent 👍 and very responsible throughout. I left the group in Yufuin to stay two nights there and one night in Kurokawa, enjoying the open-air hot springs (rotenburo). When I left the group, the guide even helped me call a taxi 🚕 so I could get to my hotel smoothly, which was truly thoughtful.
Lisa was a great tour guide who was clear in her explanations and instructions, and friendly to us. It was raining in the afternoon so it was quite difficult to walk around the yufuin village, but otherwise a good tour.
The price is more than worth it. The scenery is beautiful, although some places were quite crowded, which is understandable. The tour guide was generally helpful, but there is a little room for improvement in giving equal attention to all tourists and making everyone feel included throughout the tour.
I had a great experience because our tour guide Helen was so knowledgeable. Everything went smoothly and she's also a really great English speaker she answers all of our questions and very approachable. Thank you Helen for making our trip memorable. 💓
Our Yufuin no Mori tour was an amazing experience and definitely worth booking. Beppu is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited, and every stop along the way was memorable. A special thanks to our tour guide, Mr. Jin, who was very helpful and accommodating throughout the trip. He made sure we arrived at each destination on time, shared lots of interesting information about the places we visited, and even took great photos for us. His guidance made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area!
This itinerary was packed, and it would have been better to have more time for sightseeing in Dazaifu. The cable car ride up the mountain offered a great panoramic view of Beppu, the surrounding mountains, and the volcanic lakes. It's a shame we couldn't see the mountains in full bloom at the end of April. Yufuin has many shops and unique snacks, and choosing to return on the second day was an excellent arrangement. We also got to experience the Yufuin no Mori train, and not having to buy tickets or scramble for seats ourselves was highly recommended. Our tour guide, Sun Nan, spoke multiple languages and was happy to help everyone take group photos. He also made sure that all group members leaving the tour in Yufuin found their accommodations, which was very thoughtful. Perhaps because there was a lot of information to convey in multiple languages, his speech was a bit fast; slowing down a little would have been better. Additionally, I'm not sure why the agency sent the wrong message, mistakenly thinking we had canceled, but thankfully, the guide resolved the issue.
We had a great time during this tour. Our guide is commendable. Miss Seki Nan was very excellent. She took care of the tour flawlessly, especially her quick to change itinerary due to heavy rain. And the driver was equally kind and excellent. We enjoyed the trip despite the weather condition. We also appreciate Miss Seki’s food recommendations. Her skill is superb! More power to you Miss Seki 🤎
This was a very impressive trip! Even though it rained all day, the travel and arrangements went smoothly. The guide and driver were very kind and welcoming. There's no need to worry about communication issues; the guide was able to assist and provide recommendations, and they spoke multiple languages. They were very kind and skilled! As a Thai person traveling alone who primarily uses Korean, I really appreciate their attentiveness. I hope to use your services again. I love Fukuoka!
