Things to do in Mino

A winding road up the hill from minoh-kayano station brings u to the temple…after passing the check point, u step into a different world. U find small daruma dolls anywhere and everywhere…literally and still the temple looks organised….we did the daruma doll offering prayer and it felt peaceful. There was a slight drizzle and it brought out the beauty of temple even more. A must visit place if ur staying in Osaka or Kyoto….arigato gozaimasu

Nick was an amazing tour guide during this tour! He shared so much about not just the attractions we were visiting, he also taught u about Japanese culture and even some local greetings. The tour was really fun and a great way to visit many places in a day if your feet need a rest or you just want to cover more ground in a short period. Really recommended if you come to Osaka!

Arriving at Fushimi Inari Shrine, you can see the bright vermilion color from afar, especially striking on a cloudy day. Many Japanese shrines use this color, which is said to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune. It is also a continuation of the early tradition of using cinnabar (containing mercury) paint to prevent insect damage. Under the vermilion color, the intertwining of faith and function is on display. 2. Bamboo blinds hang at the entrance of the temple, obscuring the view of the main hall. At first glance, I thought it was under repair, but later I learned that this is actually a traditional etiquette – the divine body should not be exposed to the eyes of the world at will, symbolizing holiness that cannot be directly looked upon, and adding a layer of solemn "distance" to the sacred domain. The tour guide is super attentive.

Huahua was the absolute best tour guide! After two other tours had canceled on us because of the typhoon we were lucky to have been able to book this tour. It was actually a blessing because this was one of the best tours we’ve been on! HuaHua was an excellent tour guide and made sure we knew details and history about every stop we made. He even let us to know where we could get the best matcha in Uji! The tour included Uji , Byodo , Kiffune Shrine , and Katsuo-ji Temple. We were able to go to every stop with an ample amount of time to roam around and shop! Thank you to HuaHua and his beautiful singing voice for giving us the best tour in Osaka!

Our tour guide was absolutely amazing, providing explanations in both Chinese and English, and taking great care of us! Katsuo-ji Temple was incredibly charming! You can see cute Daruma dolls everywhere, and you can also buy them at the gift shop and place them wherever you like. It's a must-visit! Arashiyama was also great for exploring! I highly recommend trying the honey ice cream! The travel time to each location was about an hour, so you can catch up on sleep in the car. The overall itinerary didn't include meal times, so everyone needs to find their own food.

Thank you to our tour guide, Apple, for taking care of us all day today. Her voice was sweet, and she was very kind and lovely! Although the itinerary was a bit rushed, it was expected that we wouldn't spend much time at each stop, given that we were visiting three major attractions in one day. Arashiyama and Katsuoji Temple were both very impressive! The advantage of joining a one-day tour like this is having a driver, which allows you to quickly visit the main spots. Afterward, you can choose your favorite attractions to explore in more depth! Overall, it was a good experience. Plus, I happened to be staying in Osaka the day before and Kyoto the day after, so I boarded the bus in Osaka with my luggage and was able to tell the guide in advance that I wanted to get off in Kyoto on the return trip. This conveniently saved me the hassle of traveling from Osaka to Kyoto with my luggage!

We had a great time! One of the highlights of this trip was collecting the 6 stamps in Katsuoji… such a fun and memorable experience! 😍 Abigail is a great tour guide… very approachable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She made sure we were well-informed throughout the trip and really took care of everyone. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Overall, it was a wonderful experience! ✨
