Things to do in Tenguyama

Take the Ropeway gondola up Mount Tenguyama for a top view of Otaru city and the beautiful sea. You can exchange your QR code for a physical ticket at the counter and also receive a free postcard and a 10% discount at Tenguu Cafe. At the top, there's a Chipmunk Garden, Tengu Shrine, and other activities to enjoy.

The schedule for this trip was very well organized, with appropriate time allocated for each attraction. The tour guide, Xiao Liao, provided prompt reminders and warm, professional service, communicating very well in Chinese, English, and Japanese. By the way, participants can choose between the Yoichi Distillery and the fruit-picking orchard based on their preferences, and the driver will pick everyone up individually.

I joined the LOVE NIPPON TOUR on October 6th: Hokkaido Takino Cosmos and Kochia, Mt. Hakkaku BBQ, and Jozankei Hoheikyo Autumn Leaves Day Tour. Our tour guide for the day was Habi. The itinerary was comfortable, and the scenery of the Kochia and the Great Buddha was beautiful. The dining environment for the BBQ at Mt. Hakkaku was lovely. I got to see the stunning autumn foliage at Hoheikyo! Thank you to Habi and the company for organizing this trip.

This tour offers high-quality yet reasonably priced drinks and seafood, with stunning sea views from Cape Kamui (weather permitting 🤞). The pace of the tour is relaxed. Please note that some attractions do not have baby-friendly facilities, so this tour is more suitable for adults and children who can take care of themselves. The whisky distillery, in particular, offers a wealth of information and a wide selection of souvenirs; it would be ideal to skip the final stop at the outlet and spend a little more time at the distillery instead. I highly recommend the Klook Hokkaido day tour I recently took! The itinerary was excellent, taking us through Otaru, Cape Kamui, and finally to the Tenguyama Observatory to enjoy the sunset and night view. The scenery was so beautiful that it was hard to leave; every spot was worth visiting. The gradient blue waters of Cape Kamui were especially stunning, and watching the sunset from Tenguyama, followed by the city lights coming on, was definitely the highlight of the entire trip! The timing, from daytime to evening and then to the night view, was perfectly arranged – never feeling rushed or like time was wasted. The biggest bonus this time was our driver and guide, Mr. Wei (David). His service attitude was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. He was patient throughout the journey and provided insightful information about the attractions, making the whole trip relaxing and worry-free. He also drove very smoothly. This small group tour is truly convenient for first-time visitors to Hokkaido who want to explore several attractions in one go. I was very satisfied with the entire day's itinerary, scenery, time management, and the service of our driver and guide. It was a very pleasant and memorable day trip! I will recommend it to my friends and family in the future.

All the places we wanted to visit were included, and the schedule went smoothly, making for a very fulfilling sightseeing experience. We had a great time in our private tour with our driver 维钢. His van was comfy and clean. The rate we paid was higher compared to other operators but it was a last minute booking and glad there was still available van and driver to cater us. Thank you. Keep up the great service.

We had a fantastic trip visiting Shakotan Blue, the Otaru Canal, and Shiroi Koibito Park. Our tour guide, Hong, was exceptional—his communication regarding meeting points and tour expectations was always clear and well-organized. I was particularly impressed by his ability to fluently speak Korean, English, and Chinese, effortlessly catering to the diverse nationalities in our group. Highly recommended!
