Fantastic 5.0
This is a great place to stay if you're driving, as there's an indoor parking garage right next door where you can buy discount tickets (1,700 yen if you don't leave between 3:00 PM on the day of arrival and 11:00 AM the next day). To exit, simply insert your original parking ticket into the payment machine, then insert the discount ticket (purchased from the hotel front desk). The location is excellent, very close to the station, and the rooms are quite spacious. The only minor issue is that the bathroom facilities are a bit old. The front desk staff are all very polite!

Fantastic 5.0
The hotel's location next to Chinatown makes finding food very convenient. It's also close to Kobe Port Tower, so an evening stroll to the port to enjoy the breeze and night view is very pleasant. The hotel staff are fluent in English, making communication seamless. Amenities are available for self-service on the first floor. We booked a king-size double room this time, which was 17.9 square meters, offering ample space to open two large suitcases. The overall room space was relaxing, and the bed was comfortable, neither too soft nor too hard. The refrigerator also included complimentary welcome snacks: two mango-flavored puddings, which was a thoughtful touch. Two bottles of mineral water were provided, and there's a water dispenser on the 14th floor. The public bath is on the 14th floor, and the open-air bath is fantastic, allowing you to gaze at the stars at night. The washing machines are free, which is incredibly generous! After a bath, you can help yourself to ice cream bars, with four flavors to choose from – truly a great treat. You can also use the massage chairs, which are excellent! However, there are only two massage chairs, so it depends on your luck if you get to use one. In the evening, there's also 'Yonaki Ramen' (night ramen) as a late-night snack, a delicious and warming small portion of soy sauce ramen that I highly recommend trying! The breakfast spread is rich and buffet-style; you'll be full even if you just try a little bit of everything! There are several fruit options, and I especially loved the sweet and not-too-rich cantaloupe! There are many beverages and a wide variety of tea bags, more than you can possibly drink. In conclusion: I highly recommend this place to everyone! I'd love to stay here again if I have the chance!

Fantastic 5.0
The hotel is about a 3-minute walk from Motomachi Station East Exit, with several shopping streets nearby that are great for browsing and shopping. If you and your travel companions are up for a walk, the bustling Sannomiya Station, one stop away, is about 700 meters or 10-15 minutes on foot. All the front desk staff we encountered during our 4-night stay were very friendly, and one male staff member was from Taiwan. We booked a room with windows on two sides, so when we opened the curtains each morning, the sunlight filled the room, making it very bright and putting us in a great mood. The room cleanliness would get a 9 out of 10. The only minor drawback is that because the floor is covered with short-pile carpet, those with a sensitive sense of smell might faintly detect a foot odor, which becomes quite noticeable when the indoor air conditioning temperature rises above 24.5 degrees Celsius. Additionally, there was no dehumidifier in the room (in my past experiences staying in Japan, rooms, especially those with carpeted floors, usually have one, so I expected it to be standard, but this hotel didn't). As for the train noise, my personal experience over 4 nights was around 50-55 decibels. Those with very sensitive hearing could try using earplugs, as the hotel's other features are quite excellent, and I believe the train noise is a minor issue that doesn't detract from the overall quality. In conclusion, if I have the chance to visit Kobe again, this hotel would still be my top choice for booking. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to book a room. :)

Fantastic 5.0
The hotel's location is quite good, not far from Motomachi Station and the city bus stop, making transportation convenient. It's right next to a shopping street and across from Daimaru Department Store, which is great for shopping. The hotel's cleanliness and service are both very good. If you're visiting Kobe and prefer not to stay in the bustling Sannomiya area, this hotel is a quiet and convenient option.

The Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel, with its striking wave-like exterior, resembles a luxury cruise ship docked in the harbor. Rooms come with private balconies, offering unparalleled ocean views and stunning nightscapes, making it the absolute best choice for a vacation in Kobe!

The location is excellent. Although the room is small, it's very stylish. This is my first time encountering a sink outside the bathroom, which is very convenient for getting ready. The breakfast area on the 39th floor has a great view. While the selection isn't vast, everything is exquisite, and they even offer beef.

The location is excellent, very close to Ikuta Shrine, just a 5-minute walk away. There's also a Don Quijote nearby, also very close, about a 5-minute walk. The hotel staff are very polite. There are many dining options nearby, and I struggled every night to decide what to eat. The hotel offers free coffee on the first floor, and my daughter would go down for a cup every evening before returning to our room.

I was totally tired by my travel México to Japan, and I could rest so comfortable. The service was wonderful. I would like enjoy the buffet, but I had a plan with a friend. Everything looked so nice.

More about Kobe hotels

What staying in Kobe feels like

Kobe's room rates show a modest spread from budget to top-end — the most expensive tier runs about 0.4 times the cost of the most affordable, so differences are noticeable but not extreme. The best balance for value-conscious travellers is the premium tier, which tends to offer the sweet spot between comfort and cost.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy options sit at the bottom end for price-conscious travellers wanting the simplest stays, while standard rooms step up slightly for those wanting a bit more comfort without a large premium. The premium tier is the best-value sweet spot, offering noticeably better quality for a moderate increase in price. The biggest jump comes when moving from premium to luxury, so choose luxury only if you want a clear upgrade over the premium experience.

When travellers from Hong Kong typically book

Kobe is cheapest around January and most expensive around October, with January suiting budget-led trips when nightly rates tend to be lower. Rooms are commonly booked about 41 days in advance, so if you need the most options or are travelling in October, plan and lock in a room earlier rather than leaving it to short notice.
