Our tour guide knew all the best food spots like the back of their hand, from where to find the crispiest egg pancakes to the most flavorful rabbit heads. The snacks were absolutely delicious! The weather in Chengdu in September was also pleasant, not too hot. Our family was just passing through Chengdu and had one day, so we signed up for this day trip. With kids in tow, it was much more relaxing to have someone guide us around.

Kuanzhai Alley has lots of snacks, perfect for strolling and eating. Du Fu Thatched Cottage and Wuhou Shrine really benefit from a guide; with one, you can gain a deeper understanding. This time, we just walked around on our own, but we did manage to eavesdrop on someone else's tour for a bit. By evening, Jinli was beautifully lit up, with red lanterns hanging everywhere, and the lively atmosphere of the snack stalls came alive. It feels like the people of Chengdu are all so relaxed and easygoing. I really love the vibe here; everyone seems so at ease.

Coming to Chengdu was all about having hotpot, and it was indeed delicious. The place the driver recommended was authentic, very local, and excellent. As for the attractions, Du Fu Thatched Cottage and Wuhou Shrine are rich in cultural heritage. Having a guide is essential; otherwise, you'd just be looking without understanding. With a guide, it's much more interesting. Overall, it was a fulfilling day (though there were too many people during the May Day holiday, so I had to find angles to take photos of empty spots).

We took the kids on May Day, and it was incredibly crowded; we underestimated how popular Chengdu is. We still managed to visit several places in one day, and the local history and culture were very impactful. The food was also delicious. Even though there were a lot of people, it was worth it for the food and scenery.
