Melbourne Puffing Billy Steam Train + Penguin Island Day Tour

Tour guide Wilson was amazing! The entire trip was so much fun, and the puffin train ride was a refreshing and very special experience. Guide Wilson even actively offered to take photos for us and recorded a video of us on the train. Every time we look at the photos and videos, we can relive this trip, filled with happy memories! Along the way, we visited the zoo. It was our first time feeding kangaroos by hand, which felt magical—they are just too cute! Finally, we went to see the penguins returning to their burrows. At first, sitting on the left side of the beach, we couldn't see anything at all. Fortunately, the tour guide reminded us that the right side would offer a clearer view. As a result, we got to see penguins walking together in groups from super close up—they were extremely cute!!! This travel experience exceeded our expectations, and we want to give a huge thank you to our wonderful tour guide Wilson, all thanks to his thoughtful care and perfect arrangements!

An absolutely amazing day tour! The tour guide was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. Since I was traveling alone, the guide even offered to help me take photos and gave a Polaroid photo to everyone on the bus. Before boarding each time, a headcount was taken, and the meeting time and location were repeatedly reminded, making the arrangements very reliable. The guide also shared the best photo spots for the Puffing Billy Railway and exclusive tips for viewing the little penguins. Highly recommended! Because the steam train ride was scheduled for a little after 2:00 PM and we had plenty of time, the guide took us to some extra attractions not originally on the itinerary. Our first stop was the F1 Grand Prix park, where we saw graceful black swans; then we visited the Brighton bathing boxes, famous from Jay Chou's music video. In the afternoon, after riding the steam train, we headed to the zoo to get a close-up look at the kangaroos. The kangaroos were gentle and friendly, allowing us to hand-feed and pet them, and almost everyone managed to get great photos of themselves feeding the kangaroos. In the evening, we went to watch the penguin parade. It gets quite windy by the seaside, so it is recommended to bring an extra thick jacket. Following the tips shared by our guide, we successfully saw flocks of adorable little penguins, making the whole trip fulfilling and unforgettable! Fantastic day tour in Melbourne! Our guide was thoughtful and friendly. He helped take photos for solo travelers and gave free polaroids. He counted passengers and reminded us of meeting points, plus shared great tips for Puffing Billy and the penguin parade. We visited extra spots including the F1 park with black swans and Brighton's iconic bathing boxes. We got to feed gentle kangaroos. It's windy for penguin watching in the evening, so bring warm layers. Highly recommended!

Today, my son and I joined a day tour and met our guide, Kimi! The itinerary was packed with activities: we got up close with koalas and kangaroos at Maru Koala and Animal Park, rode the Puffing Billy steam train, and then headed to Phillip Island to watch the Little Penguins return to their nests. Kimi was enthusiastic and professional, managing the schedule perfectly. Before going to Penguin Island, she thoughtfully reminded everyone about staying warm at night and important viewing tips. We had a fantastic day trip, visiting multiple attractions and riding the historic Puffing Billy steam train through the lush rainforest! Afterward, we went to Phillip Island to admire the magnificent coastal scenery and even visited Moonlit Sanctuary, where we could get up close with animals like white kangaroos and koalas. In the evening, we witnessed the incredible Penguin Parade, watching the little penguins return from the sea to their nests. Our tour guide, Tony Liu, managed the time exceptionally well and provided a wealth of information throughout the trip, explaining everything very clearly! The entire experience and journey were excellent. We highly recommend it to everyone!

Many thanks to the tour guide for the explanations and transportation on this trip. It was already past 11 PM when the tour finished, and they still dropped us off at our hotel. We were very lucky today to ride a scenic small train, and after that, we went straight to the zoo to see kangaroos and koalas eating; they were all very lively. The most anticipated part, seeing the penguins at night, also delivered, as we saw many of them. It was a truly memorable trip, thank you very much!

I was extremely satisfied with the "Puffing Billy Steam Train & Phillip Island Day Tour (Chinese Guided Tour)"! Our guide, Joe, was very professional in planning the itinerary. The entire route was planned smoothly, the timing was just right, and I didn't feel rushed or tired at all. Because it was summer and the days were longer, Joe even added a hidden itinerary, making the whole trip richer and more surprising, which made it worth every penny! His Chinese explanations were clear and thoughtful along the way, and he also took care of the needs of the group members, making us feel very safe. If you want to experience the Puffing Billy Steam Train and Penguin Parade in a relaxing and fulfilling way, I sincerely and strongly recommend joining Joe's tour; you definitely won't be disappointed!

The tour guide was very professional, and the driving was extremely safe. He knew a lot about Australia and was able to find us great train tickets and a good spot to see the penguins. The train experience was superb; make sure to sit near the platform side for excellent views.

Our tour guide, Joe, was excellent. His explanations were clear and detailed, and there was never a dull moment during the entire drive. He continuously shared information about the itinerary, life in Melbourne, and its history. It's truly impressive that he could drive and narrate simultaneously. He is one of the best tour guides I have ever met. The Maru Koala and Animal Park experience was quite good, and I recommend visiting. The train ride is definitely worthwhile. The only downside is that there were fewer penguins since it was the transition from summer to autumn.
