Puffing Billy Railway & Phillip Island Full-Day Nature Exploration

What a fantastic day trip! In the morning, we rode the famous Puffing Billy steam train, traveling through the forest and enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. We also experienced the unique thrill of dangling our legs out of the carriage. In the evening, we visited Penguin Island to watch the little penguins return to their nests. Groups of adorable little penguins waddled from the sea back to their burrows, creating a heartwarming and unforgettable scene. Special thanks to our tour guide, whose service was incredibly professional, enthusiastic, and attentive. Throughout the journey, they not only provided detailed introductions to each attraction but also shared many interesting facts. They constantly looked after the needs of the group members, making the entire itinerary very smooth and relaxed. The steam train and the penguin parade are both highly recommended experiences, and with the guidance of an excellent tour guide, this trip was even more perfect. I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne!

Was so awesome! I'm a solo traveller, the bus was really spacious and Simmon was accomodating, condiderate and overall great! Nice view, i got emotional riding puffing billy I literally cried all my myself thinking how good life has been for me. Nobbies lookout was also good and the ever cutest little penguins!!!! 🇵🇭🇦🇺🛤🚉💨🐧

This tour worth every penny you spent. Driver and tour guide Evan is bilingual, he speaks in Mandarin and English. Evan is nice and informative. The itinerary and introduction of everything he provided is clear. we go puffing train railway directly, and spent 2hrs there including having lunch by ourselves. Taking the train is so much fun! If the weather is good, the view is super nice! We love it a lot. The train took around one hour from Lakeside to Belgrave. Then we headed to the Maru Koala animal park. Evan bought the group ticket for everyone, it costs $30 per person cheaper than the original price $33. The zoo has many animal, like kangaroos, white kangaroos, koalas, quokka, alpacas, dingoes, sheep and some reptiles. We can get so close with animal and take selfie, it was a great experience and we enjoyed a lot. Definitely will recommend this tour to everyone visiting Melbourne. The puffing train is one of the must do thing in Melbourne.

Taking advantage of the nice weather, I spent a whole day touring with our handsome driver-guide, Andy! His explanations and arrangements were spot-on. We rode the miniature train for an hour, which was a great experience. The zoo is a bit small, but fortunately, we got to see some cute koalas that weren't sleeping. Finally, watching the little penguins return home at the end was just adorable!

Reasonable price for a whole day trip to experience Puffing Billy train ride and the viewing of penguins return at Phillip Island. There’s a stop at Maru Koala & Animal Park in between and you can choose to pay to go in or not. It’s a big group of 50 people from different countries. Our tour guide Evan did a good job of safe driving and giving information in English for all to understand. I had a great time joining the tour as a solo traveler.

Daniel was the best guide we could have asked for. Accomodating, friendly, goes out of his way, funny, and his english is very well spoken. Along the way he gave us many tips for the different attractions and showed us interesting videos that he took himself on his previous trips. Kudos to you Daniel, thanks for the best day of my trip so far.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the experience! 1. The tour guide was Chinese and had a witty, humorous personality. Even though the workload was heavy with a lot of overtime during the National Day holiday, the service remained top-notch throughout. I privately asked quite a few questions before departure, and he patiently answered all of them while providing very practical advice. The bilingual commentary (Chinese and English) was fantastic; it was largely thanks to this tour guide that the trip's overall experience was elevated so much. 2. The itinerary was reasonably planned. We happened to catch the switch to Australian Daylight Saving Time, departing at 9:45 AM that day and returning close to 10:00 PM. The itinerary included the long-awaited Puffing Billy Railway. Sitting on the train, the scenery along the way was gorgeous, and the experience was very comfortable. Afterward, we headed to the zoo, where we could get close to kangaroos and take photos. In the evening, we went to Phillip Island to watch the little penguins return ashore. One viewing platform on Phillip Island left a particularly deep impression on me; the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful, and we stayed there taking photos for over an hour. It was a huge highlight of the trip.

amazing experience! the steamed train is not so fast so you can enjoy the view of the Dandenong Ranges! defo a must in the list together with Maru Koala and the Phillip Island to see the baby penguins! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
