Things to do in Kuranda Koala Gardens

I had a fantastic visit to the Kuranda Koala Gardens. It was such a unique experience to see koalas and other native Australian animals up close. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing interesting facts about the animals and their natural habitats. The park is well-maintained and offers a relaxing environment to enjoy wildlife. I especially loved the opportunity to take photos with the koalas and watch them in their natural-like setting. It’s a great place for families, animal lovers, or anyone wanting to experience a bit of Australia’s wildlife. I highly recommend visiting Kuranda Koala Gardens when in the area.

View of Daintree rainforest from the sky. we switched to 2-way Cable car as the return train ride was pretty late and we were staying at Port Douglas. There were 3 stops and we could see Baron Falls plus walk around the Kurang Village.

Kuranda is a small town. Not as vibrant because not all shops open. Time is quite tight. Nice wildlife park. The 2 kangaroos are very docile and open for closeup photos. There are 2 staffs that came out to share about their animals (Jack and the blue tongue lizard). Boomerang throw is great fun. Highlight is the DUKW tour as the guide/driver shares their wealth of knowledge of the plants in the rainforest. Thumbs up! Great for whole family

Our Kuranda day tour with Klook was an amazing and stress-free experience from start to finish. The pick-up and drop-off bus service made the whole day convenient and worry-free. We loved the Skyrail experience, gliding above the stunning rainforest canopy with incredible views. Don't forget to do the stops to explore rainforest and the vie of the falls. The bird aviary was a highlight, offering the chance to see colourful tropical birds up close in Karunda village. The rail journey back was enjoyable, and learning about the fascinating history of the railway added even more value. Overall, it was a well-organised and unforgettable day tour.

I took the affordable Kuranda Riverboat cruise, and it was a good value for money. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to leisurely observe wildlife! The boat was more like a motorized raft, and the experience time was just right. There were only 8 people during this particular time slot. The old captain was humorous and witty, introducing the reservoir and historical constructions along the way. The best part was the ecological experience; not only did we successfully spot wild freshwater crocodiles, but we also got to hand-feed turtles, and swallows even flew by the boat occasionally. I joined the 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM session, which was originally perfectly timed to connect with the last scenic train at 3:30 PM. Unfortunately, the train was canceled that day due to safety concerns, so we had to take a bus back to Cairns city center instead.

Amphibious Duck Tour: For someone like me who can't understand fast native English, the guide's voice was like a sleeping pill, haha. I almost fell asleep, it was dangerous. Kuranda Scenic Railway: If you're not on the left-side window seat, the view is hard to see and you can't take pictures, haha. Waterfall: On the Kuranda Scenic Railway, you have 10 minutes to get off and see it, but if you want to enjoy it more, you should get off at the first Skyrail station.

Our guide was very entertaining and explained everything so well. This is the most comfortable way to enjoy the rainforest. The sunset in the forest is also beautiful.
