Our tour guide, Elena was very informative and passionate about sharing the history/ stories of the places we visited. The tour went on smoothly and fuss- free. Despite the crowd, it was an enjoyable experience!

Thanks to you, I had a rich and fulfilling trip. You explained everything so smoothly. This was my first time booking a guide during my 14-day itinerary, and while solo travel is great, having a guide definitely has its own charm! :)

Bought the Trenitalia pass on Klook and got my e-ticket instantly. Activation was super easy and the QR code worked at every station from Rome to Venice. Trains were punctual, clean, and comfortable. Having unlimited travel saved me so much vs buying single tickets and let me do spontaneous day trips. Klook’s customer support was also responsive when I had a question. Best way to explore Italy by train!

I arrived about 30 minutes early and waited, but since others had written in reviews that they wouldn't let you in until the last minute, I took pictures and killed time around the area. However, when I went back 10 minutes before the start, I was able to get in smoothly without waiting! It didn't seem like they were particularly strict about the timing. I think it's convenient to print out your ticket and keep it handy, but mobile tickets on your phone are also perfectly fine!

Great tour, Favio was such an amazing tour guide, full of stories and very knowledgeable. The only thing is the meeting spot can be a bit confusing, we got lost but did managed to turn up just in time. Otherwise, enjoyable tour.

This tour is worth booking. Our guide, Giorgio, was a wonderful guide. He gave us lots of stories, showed us how everything looked during the old Roman times. He explained every detail of the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill and the Colosseum while being patient enough to answer the questions of our groupmates. Check-in for the tour was done fast and smoothly too.

What to know about Palatine Hill

Palatine Hill is one of the most ancient parts of Rome! Standing 40 meters above the Roman Forum, this hill is not like any other—it's one of Rome's famous seven hills and holds a lot of history. People have believed that Palatine Hill, known as the first nucleus of the Roman Empire, has been around since 1000 B.C. Legends say that Rome's founder, Romulus, started the ancient city here, and later on, the rich and powerful emperors of ancient Rome lived in luxury on this hill. Palatine Hill was once the center of Rome, where important buildings like the Arch of Septimius Severus, the Temple of Saturn, the Arch of Titus, and the House of the Vestals stood. Walking around the ruins today, you can see majestic ruins and remnants of imperial palaces like the Flavian Palace, the House of Livia, and the Palatine Museum. These palaces were made for the wealthy and upper-class people of the ancient Roman Empire. With its fascinating history and ancient Roman artifacts, Palatine Hill is a must-visit attraction on your Rome itinerary. Book your Palatine Hill tickets today!

Things to Do in Palatine Hill, Rome

Flavian Palace

The Flavian Palace, also known as the Domus Flavia or Domus Augustana, is a majestic building that was built during the time of Emperor Domitian around 92 AD. It was improved later on by Septimius Severus. If you ever visit the Palatine ruins, you'll get a breathtaking view of the palace where the upper class settled before. For the full effect and to see how huge the palace was, don't forget to check it out from the Circus Maximus. It's quite a sight to see.

Palatine Museum

The Palatine Museum, also called Museo Palatino, might be small, but it's full of Roman statues and artifacts from the hippodrome, giving you a peek into history. The cool stuff in this museum goes way back to the early days of Rome. Inside this small museum, you'll find things that were found during excavations on the archeological site of Palatine Hill.
