Nagoya Castle is a historically important castle in Nagoya, Japan, known for its magnificent architecture and rich history. Built during the Edo period by Tokugawa Ieyasu, it was the home of the Owari branch of the Tokugawa family. Although the castle burned from air rides during World War II, the main castle tower and Honmaru Palace have been beautifully restored. The castle grounds are also worth seeing with its beautiful gardens like Ninomaru Garden, stone walls, traditional tea houses, and amazing golden shachihoko—mythical creatures that sit on the roof. But, there are plenty of things to do here besides sightseeing. At the castle's main entrance by the east gate, you can begin your adventure into Japanese history. Inside, there are exhibits on Nagoya Castle's history and Japanese folklore. Plus, you can watch the Nagoya Omotenashi Bushotai samurai performers bring Japanese stories to life with their shows. Close to Nagoya Station, the castle is easy to get to, making it a great place to visit. So why wait? Nagoya Castle is a must-see in Nagoya city.

Bara-san our Japanese tour guide is very accomodating and helpful. He tries and give all his best to explain everything about the tour and interesting facts about Japan. Takayama and Shirakawa-go are beautiful destinations. One of the best side trips from Nagoya City. Also, alot of good restaurants in Takayama serving Hida Beef.

If you go to Nagoya, this is a must-see spot!! It's a view that you can't help but recommend. The night view is also beautiful, but I think it would look better during the day. It's great because you can see various scenery up close and far, including Nagoya Castle, all over Nagoya. I think it would be charming even on a rainy day.

Beautiful place. The views would have been more striking if the weather had been better. The guide explained the possible hiking routes but didn't tell much extra info about the place.
