Nagoya Castle is a historically important castle in Nagoya, Japan, known for its magnificent architecture and rich history. Built during the Edo period by Tokugawa Ieyasu, it was the home of the Owari branch of the Tokugawa family. Although the castle burned from air rides during World War II, the main castle tower and Honmaru Palace have been beautifully restored. The castle grounds are also worth seeing with its beautiful gardens like Ninomaru Garden, stone walls, traditional tea houses, and amazing golden shachihoko—mythical creatures that sit on the roof. But, there are plenty of things to do here besides sightseeing. At the castle's main entrance by the east gate, you can begin your adventure into Japanese history. Inside, there are exhibits on Nagoya Castle's history and Japanese folklore. Plus, you can watch the Nagoya Omotenashi Bushotai samurai performers bring Japanese stories to life with their shows. Close to Nagoya Station, the castle is easy to get to, making it a great place to visit. So why wait? Nagoya Castle is a must-see in Nagoya city.

We had an incredible experience thanks to our two guides, Leonardo and Tani. Our group was a mix of travelers, and the dual-language explanations in English and Chinese were immensely helpful. Leonardo provided detailed explanations in English, including the names of places in Chinese characters, and his knowledge of Japanese history was impressive. Tani, on the other hand, explained everything in Chinese and was equally knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Japanese culture. The two guides complemented each other perfectly, making the tour both informative and enjoyable. We've been on many day trips and guided tours in Japan, but Tani stands out as the best Chinese guide we've encountered. Her passion for Japanese culture is contagious, and she goes out of her way to ensure everyone has a memorable experience. She knows all the best scenic spots for photos and is always ready to take pictures for anyone in the group. Overall, this tour was a fantastic experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore and learn more about Japan.

finding the meet up place was very easy. it was just a few minutes steps from nagoya station (the map provided is accurate - so you just need to follow the google maps). i really enjoyed the whole trip, from takayama to shirakawago plus the hida beef lunch. i would wish to come back here in the future and stay at least overnight in Takayama. that place is very beautiful. the tour guide is very informative and were able to buy some of his “must haves” suggestions. also, he even provided sightseeing and food suggestions link for all of us. thank you so much! :)
