Fantastic 5.0
While trying to decide what to experience in Chiang Mai, I found this place. It's an activity where you can make Ya Dom (Thai inhaler) and herbal balls, which are signature Thai products, so I decided to give it a try! It was very informative to learn about the characteristics and effects of each herb and to make them myself. Most importantly, the instructor was very kind and made it a pleasant experience. Since I made the Ya Dom and herbal balls myself, they feel even more meaningful and valuable to use. The store also sells herbal teas, oils, and balms, and their effects are really great! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and educational activity!

It was my first time trying yoga and meditation, and overall it was a unique and enjoyable experience. While there's plenty of information about meditation online, nothing compares to learning it in person. Hearing the instructor's calming voice, being surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere, and even taking in the scents of nature made the experience truly special. The only downside wasn't the activity itself—it was my own lack of research. I didn't plan my transportation properly, so I ended up paying an extra 1,000 baht for my driver to wait for me for three hours. That aside, it was a wonderful experience, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to relax and reconnect with themselves.

The most worthwhile part of my trip to Chiang Mai was this traditional Thai dance experience. It's a shame I didn't have more days, otherwise I would have loved to continue learning from the instructor. The instructor was incredibly gentle and patient. Even though there was a language barrier, the instructor's English, combined with body language and translation software, allowed us to understand and communicate smoothly. I truly loved this instructor. Before the dance class ended, they even prepared sliced mangoes and egg tarts, which was very thoughtful.

It was quite stunning to see the white temple in Chiang Rai. The blue temple was great too. The black museum has some adult contents hence if travelling with children, you need to be aware of it. Long drive of 3.5 hours to Chiang Rai and back is probably worth it!

Fantastic 5.0
Think of it as transport not tour. Driver was on time and drove smoothly and let us know when to meet back at the van. Loved checking out the Elephant Poo Paper Park (not smelly at all haha) and the Sticky Waterfall was so cool! The waterfall closed at 430 though so we were rushed by the park rangers near the end. Overall worth it to not worry about transportation.

Such an amazing tour with an amazing tour guide, his name is James. Very informative, open to lots of questions, made sure we are comfortable and suggested more places to visit to fully enjoy Chiang Mai. James is a highly recommended tour guide. He is calm and always have a big smile on his face. Will surely book this tour again if ever i visit again with ny family.

Fantastic 5.0
Our tour guide, M, was very kind and dedicated, switching between Chinese and English to assist everyone in the group. Before the trip, pay close attention to the travel agency's messages. The day before departure, they will send an email with the updated meeting time; the one I received was different from what was initially booked. The car arrived exactly on time. 8:50 AM: Chiang Rai Hot Spring. The foot bath was extremely hot, so I could only dip my feet in briefly. 9:20 AM: Long Neck Village. There's a coffee shop on a hill next to the parking lot, offering distant views. The owner had difficulty communicating in English, so it's best to double-check your order. 11:30 AM - 12:40 PM: White Temple (Wat Rong Khun). It was breathtakingly beautiful, and the route design was very meaningful. Photography is not allowed inside the main hall. 12:50 PM: Lunch. It was a buffet with freshly made noodle soup, various Thai desserts, and sweet fruits. 1:50 PM - 2:30 PM: Blue Temple (Wat Rong Seur Ten). You can take photos with the large Buddha statue inside the Blue Temple. Outside, there's a row of vendors where you can buy souvenirs and snacks. 2:50 PM - 3:30 PM: Black House (Baan Dam Museum). This is an artist's private collection with a unique style. 4:30 PM - 5:40 PM: Golden Triangle Park (optional boat tour for 300 baht per person). We returned to Nimman Road at 10:00 PM, an hour later than the scheduled 9:00 PM. Thankfully, I had brought snacks for the journey. The streetlights along the route were quite spaced out, and the mountain roads were not very smooth, so I recommend that those prone to motion sickness take medication beforehand. Although the tour ended very late, the guide remained energetic and provided excellent service throughout.

What to know before visiting Chiang Mai Province

Things to Do in Chiang Mai

Night Bazaar

You can explore the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar for handmade goods, snacks, and easy evening walks. Many travelers come here for street food, small shops, and a relaxed night out. It’s one of the most visited attractions in Chiang Mai.

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

You can ride up the mountain to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep by songthaew (red truck) or taxi from the city center. The temple is known for its views over central Chiang Mai. You can also climb the long staircase if you prefer, with detailed steps and gold details along the way.

Wat Phra Singh

Walk through Wat Phra Singh to see its halls and quiet corners. It's one of the most respected temples in Northern Thailand.

Wat Chedi Luang

Visit Wat Chedi Luang to see its large ancient structure in the middle of the city. The grounds are open for walking, and monk chat programs sometimes take place here.

Living Green Elephant Sanctuary

You can spend a peaceful half day learning about rescued elephants at the Living Green Elephant Sanctuary. You can feed them, walk with guides, and enjoy a slow, thoughtful visit.

Get your Living Green Elephant Sanctuary tickets through Klook ahead of time to make your trip easy!

Wua Lai Road

Enjoy food stalls, crafts, and music along Wua Lai Road on Saturday nights. You can try dishes like pad thai, northern Thai sausage, or vegetarian khao soi.

Tips before visiting Chiang Mai

1. Plan for the weather

Chiang Mai can be warm during the day, especially in March and April. Bring light clothes, drink water, and rest indoors if the sun feels strong. (Klook tip: You can walk into coffee shops or food courts to cool off.)

2. Visit temples with proper clothing

In most temples, you'll be asked to cover your shoulders and knees. Make sure to bring a light scarf or long shorts that work well. This will help you feel comfortable during longer walks.

3. Try local food with an open mind

Street markets offer dishes like khao soi, sticky rice, and northern Thai sausage. You can try small portions first if you’re unsure. Fresh produce and all the tropical fruits are also easy to find at local markets.

4. Learn simple transport options

Red trucks, taxis, and app-based rides like Grab will make moving around easy. Chiang Mai International Airport is close to the city, so transfers are quick. You can also rent a bike if you want to explore central Chiang Mai at your own pace.

5. Bring cash for markets

Many food stalls and small vendors prefer Thai baht rather than cards. Make sure to keep small bills for snacks, drinks, and simple gifts. This will make your visit to night markets and street markets smoother.
