Things to do in Kitasaku

Begin around Karuizawa Station with Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, then rent a bicycle to explore Kumoba Pond, Old Karuizawa Ginza Street, and the villa-lined lanes of Kyu-Karuizawa. Nature lovers should visit Shiraito Falls, Onioshidashi Park near Mount Asama, and scenic viewpoints along the Shiraito Highland Way. For a relaxed cultural route, stop at Hiroshi Senju Museum, Sezon Museum of Modern Art, Stone Church, and Karuizawa Kogen Church. Harunire Terrace and Hoshino Area are excellent for cafes, boutique shopping, riverside walks, and hot spring time at Tombo-no-Yu. In winter, Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort is convenient for skiing close to Tokyo. Kitasaku County also works for day trips to Komoro Castle Ruins, Miyota, and other quieter highland communities around Mount Asama.
