What a unique experience (made even more special as it was my birthday at the time)! Sonya, with Barcelona Cooking, was so knowledgeable & personable with our intimate group of 6. We took an amazing tour of the Boqueria market to not only pick our ingredients for the evening, but also experience all the varied shops & their offerings. Even though all of us in our group met that day, Sonya made it feel like we were all family. We each meaningfully participated in crafting our tapas and just talking about where we all were from. Great food & great people.

Fantastic 5.0
I joined the 4 p.m. tour, and it was definitely worth it! The light at that time made all the colors inside the church come alive — it was absolutely breathtaking. Thank you, God, for the perfect weather! I visited the Sagrada Família, and I can truly say that Gaudí’s work has the power to deepen your faith. This experience touched me spiritually, especially thanks to Alberto, who was incredibly informative and passionate during the tour. The tour group I joined had many seniors, and we patiently waited(no choice!) while some of them took a quick break to toilet before we started. I truly hope and pray that the Sagrada Família will one day be completed, because even in its unfinished state, it has already moved so many people. Once it is finished, I believe it will be even more spiritually powerful and deeply inspiring.

Great tour with super fun guides. Montserrat provided us with many breathtaking views with fascinating history and stories behind it. Farmers market was a bonus and ensured we came home with various fresh cheese and honey! Lunch was pumpkin soup with croutons, grilled chicken and dessert with plenty of wine. Shoutout to montse (our guide) who took superb care of us and gave us plenty of information to enjoy our tour.

Tips before visiting Barcelona

1. Book Barcelona Attractions Early

Top spots like the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, and Casa Batlló often sell out, especially in summer. Book your Barcelona tickets in advance to avoid long lines and secure your preferred time slot.

2. Use the Barcelona Metro or Walk

The Barcelona Metro is one of the fastest ways to move around the city, with stations close to major attractions like La Rambla and Barceloneta Beach. You can also walk through areas like the Gothic Quarter or Eixample to soak in the architecture and lively streets.

Barcelona is one of Europe’s most visited cities, so places like Las Ramblas, the metro, and popular beaches can get crowded. Keep an eye on your belongings, especially in busy streets and tourist zones.

4. Try Traditional Catalan Food

Don’t miss Barcelona’s traditional Catalan dishes like tapas, paella, and crema catalana. Try dining at local restaurants or cafes in Gràcia or El Born for an authentic experience.
