Experience: As an early private architectural work by Gaudí, Casa Vicens fully demonstrates the boundless imagination of the young Gaudí, using colorful tiles to present a strong exotic atmosphere. Facilities: The tour route is very clear, and the guided tour included in the experience is very helpful. The audio-visual materials are also very rich. Although it's a pity that there is no furniture, I think it's great that the tour provides photos of the past for reference. I especially liked the restoration video in the basement at the end. It was touching to see the building, which was originally full of traces of use, restored to its original state. Convenience of booking with Klook: It is very convenient to enter by showing the ticket QR code. After entering, the luggage storage area is on the right-hand side. Luggage storage is free, and discount coupons for coffee ☕️ and souvenirs are also provided.
Gaudí's first private project, and it's absolutely stunning. The self-guided audio tour, which you can play on your own phone, offers a variety of language options. If you have plenty of time, I recommend supplementing the audio tour with a guided tour (4€) purchased at the museum ticket counter. It's well worth it – they provide in-depth explanations of the building's details, giving you insight into the history, Gaudí's vision, and the owner's ingenuity. Plus, they help clear away those pesky tourists while they're talking (laughs). • Your ticket includes a 5€ discount coupon, so it seems like you don't need to choose the other 10% off option. / The ice cream at the café is refreshing on a hot day, though not particularly delicious, but sitting at the outdoor tables and admiring the building is a great experience. / If you love Gaudí's work and architectural details, be sure to set aside a whole half-day for Casa Vicens.
Casa Vicens is an important early architectural work by Antoni Gaudí, and it is also his first independently completed building. It is located in Barcelona, Spain. This building displays Gaudi's early design style, combining Moorish style and natural themes, and is of great artistic value. The Vicens House is known for its rich color and pattern, especially the bright ceramic tiles on the exterior walls, which were inspired by floral patterns found in nature. The building blends Moorish style with Gaudi's signature natural elements, such as undulating curves and asymmetrical designs, showcasing his innovative interpretation of traditional design. Many visitors will remark on the stunning wood carving details, ceiling design, and use of natural light in the interior spaces. Compared with Gaudi's later works (such as La Sagrada Familia or La Pedrera), Casa Vicens is relatively simple, but his bold creativity and experimentation with color can still be felt. This building reveals how Gaudí incorporated nature into his designs, laying the foundation for his subsequent works. Many visitors find Casa Vicens a relatively peaceful place to visit, with fewer tourists and a more laid-back atmosphere than other Gaudí popular attractions. The multimedia exhibition displayed inside is very helpful in understanding Gaudi's creative ideas and design background. Some visitors particularly like the building’s courtyard design, which is full of greenery and has a sense of space. If you are an architecture lover, this is definitely worth a visit to fully appreciate Gaudí’s early architectural language. Art lovers can also feel the design aesthetics of the late 19th century from the details, especially the combination of ceramics and wood craftsmanship.
While this is less visited, the significance is that Casa Vicens is the first masterpiece of Antoni Gaudi. This is also much less crowded than Casa Batllo and Casa Mila (La Pedrera), so personally i find it more enjoyable and could take my time without rushing with the flow of the crowd. Besides the guide explanations, there were also interactive exhibits for visitors to view and understand.
E ticket is very convenient to use, easy to buy and smooth to redeem. Can skip the queuing time to buy a ticket. Casa vicens is a good place to visit, with nice architecture details of the house exterior and interior design. Will definitely recommend you to buy the ticket on Klook!
