What to expect
💥Pre-departure notice: The night before your trip, between approximately 20:00 and 21:00, we will send you detailed information about your tour guide and vehicle via email. Please be sure to check it promptly💥. 🌸Today, we will visit a total of three attractions: Kinkaku-ji, the Kiyomizu-dera area, and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. Let’s start this fulfilling itinerary now🌸.
- First stop: 🛕Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion). Kinkaku-ji's official name is Rokuon-ji, but it is nicknamed "Kinkaku-ji" because the exterior walls of the Shariden (Relic Hall), the temple's central building, are entirely covered in gold leaf. The temple was originally built in 1397 as the mountain villa of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu (the model for Lord Yoshimitsu in the anime "Ikkyu-san"), and later converted into a Zen temple, "Bodai-sho." Kinkaku-ji is especially beautiful to visit during the autumn foliage season🍁, when the golden temple and the mountain covered in red leaves🍁 create a magnificent scene.
- Second stop: 🛕Kiyomizu-dera area. In autumn, Kiyomizu-dera is surrounded by mountains and fields of stunning red leaves🍁. Recommended itinerary: Kiyomizu-dera - Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka - Ishibei-koji Alley - Gion/Hanamikoji Street - Yasaka Shrine
- Third stop: ⛩️Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine is famous for its “Thousand Torii Gates,” attracting countless tourists from Japan and abroad every year. It has also been ranked as the number one “Most Popular Japanese Tourist Spot for Foreigners” in surveys by the world’s largest travel website for three consecutive years. 🎉Each of these attractions is unique, forming a Kyoto World Heritage Site day tour. Whether it’s the natural beauty or the cultural experience, you’ll have plenty of wonderful memories. Join us and explore the charm of Kyoto and share this joy🎉!

Reviews summaryIf you're planning a trip to Kyoto, this tour comes highly recommended! 😊 The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to comfortably visit famous Kyoto attractions like Kiyomizu-dera, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and Gion. Our guide was incredibly kind and provided excellent explanations, making our trip enjoyable and hassle-free. There was also a good amount of free time, which was great for taking photos, trying delicious food, and exploring at our own pace. I especially recommend this tour to first-time visitors to Kyoto. Thanks to this experience, I'm leaving with many wonderful memories. I'd love to use this tour again if I get the chance! 😊❤️
Absolutely loved our Kyoto day trip! 🇯🇵✨ The entire experience was so convenient and well organized, which made exploring Kyoto so much easier and completely stress-free. Everything flowed smoothly, from getting around to visiting the different sights, and we were able to see so much without having to worry about figuring out transportation or navigating on our own. A special thank you to our tour guide, David, who was fantastic! He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made the day even more enjoyable. He shared interesting information about each place we visited and made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire tour. Kyoto was absolutely beautiful, and having David guide us made the experience even better. If you're visiting Osaka and want to do a Kyoto day trip, I would highly recommend this tour. It was convenient, enjoyable, and definitely one of the highlights of our Japan trip! Also, be sure to wear sneakers and prepare for a lot of walking!
Our tour guide, who could switch between Chinese, Japanese, and English, and also spoke Korean, made sure every group member was taken care of. It was a huge benefit not having to research the history and stories of each attraction ourselves. They offered pre-ordered lunch, which allowed us more time to explore Kiyomizu-dera Temple and its surroundings, and the food was quite good. The itinerary was well-paced for the limited time (however, this tour is not suitable for travelers who prefer to savor sights slowly or spend a lot of time taking photos, as the time allotted for Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine doesn't allow for walking the entire Senbon Torii path!). The tour bus was clean and tidy, and the ride was smooth and steady. I'm prone to motion sickness and usually sleep on buses, and I didn't wake up due to poor driving.
This tour was led by David, who provided very professional service. It was a buy-one-get-one-free deal, making it a super affordable trip, much more convenient than going to Kiyomizu-dera on our own. It was my first time seeing such a dedicated tour guide; the bus was full of people from various countries, and each explanation was long and detailed. He had to deliver it three times in three languages: English, Chinese, and Japanese. He also had the assertiveness to make those who were always late take a separate taxi to the next meeting point, which was great. Before Kiyomizu-dera, the guide offered to pre-order meals, and I regretted not doing so at the time because finding food on my own took time and wasn't any cheaper. If the guide offers this service, I recommend booking with them for convenience. This guide and tour are highly recommended.
Although there were occasional showers today due to the typhoon's peripheral airflow, the day trip was truly worthwhile. Our guide, David, was particularly witty and provided detailed explanations of each attraction and its unique features. His recommendations were spot-on, ensuring we avoided any pitfalls, which made our exploration very relaxed. We gained a deep and enriching experience of Kyoto's culture! A big thank you to our tour leader and driver as well! We appreciate you!
Our tour was very interesting and offered many options. The guide tried to explain the importance of each place. However, I missed having a guide inside the attractions, explaining a little more about the meaning of each space. Even so, I highly recommend this tour. The transfer makes all the difference, because in addition to saving time, we have a moment to rest. It was very good and I thank the whole team!
We were genuinely pleased with this trip which covered 3 major visiting locations in Kyoto: Kinkaku-Ji ; Kiyomisu-Dera ; Fushimi Inari-taisha. From the start to the end of journey, our tour guide, David, was very informative and attentive. He waited right in front of the exit of Nipponbashi Metro which was the metro station near our meeting point. By doing so, he has assured us right from the beginning of the trip. Through out the bus ride, he has also provided abondant information and anecdotes regarding the places we visited for the day. We even learned something that we can’t even find on Wikipedia! At the time of dropping us off at Nipponbashi sation, he even provided us some good recommendations for dinning in the neighborhood and how to find the authentic spots. I only wish if he would be able to lead at some spots to find particular locations such as the wishing wells which we filed to find. LOL. Overall, we are very satisfied with this trip and David is great!
David was fantastic! The itinerary was incredibly well-planned, covering all the classic routes with plenty of time. His attention to detail was perfect, and he was very considerate. His explanations were engaging and informative, making it as enjoyable as listening to a stand-up comedy show. Having him as our guide in Kyoto truly doubled the experience. Highly recommended!
Our tour guide this time was Rick, and the itinerary was satisfying, though the timing still felt a bit tight. Kinkaku-ji Temple was breathtakingly beautiful. We didn't have enough time to go all the way to the top of Fushimi Inari. Kiyomizu-dera Temple's Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka were fantastic for photos, shopping, and browsing. I was completely immersed in Uji matcha—it was pure bliss! 😊 As expected, something unexpected happened. When I was buying a Nishiki fan at a store, I used my transit card to pay, thinking it would be more convenient than taking out my wallet. However, the vendor told me the payment failed, even though my phone showed it had been deducted. Due to communication issues, I had to contact Rick on the spot and ask him to help me translate. Thank you, Mr. Rick, for going out of your way to help me translate and even calling the relevant authorities to inquire. I'm incredibly grateful! ☺️ I'll definitely look for you again on my next trip to Japan!
On September 4, 2026, I participated in a Klook tour for the first time, visiting attractions such as Kinkaku-ji Temple, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. I'm grateful to our tour guide, Gu Wen-ji, for his meticulousness, professionalism, humor, and wit in leading us through these sites. This tour offered great value for money, and we had ample time at each location. It was a worthwhile trip, and I happily spent a wonderful day. Thank you again, Guide Gu!
