Things to do in Yilan

One of the best experience we had. I love the cats, they were so cute. We got a discounted coupon too for shopping and for our drinks. I can definitely recommend this for those who are travelling with kids.

The Yilan Traditional Arts Center is one of the must-visit attractions every time I come to Yilan. There are many activities inside, such as this time's theme which introduced the life story of Yang Li-hua, the queen of Taiwanese opera. There are also many performances, such as a Taiwanese opera performance recounting the story of Bai Ze Qi's deception, and the "Journey to the West" with the Monkey King, featuring singing and dancing. The "Journey to the West" with the Monkey King was one of the most memorable parts of my trip this time.

Buying tickets through Klook can offer some discounts. When combined with credit card rewards, it can be more cost-effective than buying directly on-site. This ticket allows direct entry by showing the QR code, eliminating the need to exchange it for a physical ticket. If you're visiting Yilan on a rainy day, consider the Lanyang Museum.

You can use the tickets immediately after purchase, and Klook's ticket price even includes parking fees. Taipingshan is truly comfortable and beautiful. Although it takes some time to adjust to the 2000-meter altitude, the weather is very pleasant and the trails are gorgeous. Remember to sit at the back of the Bong Bong Train on the left side going up and the right side coming back to capture the big turns.

I originally thought we'd only play for two hours, but we ended up staying for almost five! Although the park is a bit small, it has a lot of animals you can interact with and feed. If you add their official LINE account, you can get a free gashapon capsule toy coupon, and if you share and check in on Facebook, you can get a free portion of grass (for feeding the animals). The amusement area also has a marble game, a park train, and DIY activities like making dolls or taking sticker photos (the sticker photo booth has many accessories you can use, which is great). Oh, and I highly recommend the Thai milk tea capybara ice cream from the food stand; everything else was just okay. Overall, it was a very nice day ✔️

We visited on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The weather was cloudy that day, but thankfully it didn't rain. The park has deer, capybaras, turtles, dogs, and donkeys. The staff put a lot of effort into designing activities, such as printing commemorative postcards, collecting stamps at each station, and finally piecing together various colors to form the park's star animal members. There's also a commemorative stamp on the back. Although the park isn't large, the staff's dedication is evident everywhere. You can replenish mosquito repellent, and at the hay distribution point, you can get a small gift by leaving a review on Facebook or Instagram. We received two cute fans that day. It's recommended to check the weather before going, as most of the park is outdoors. You can also purchase e-tickets through Klook in advance for a slightly lower price and exchange them for physical tickets at the counter upon arrival. A full-price ticket is 200 NTD, which can be exchanged for feed and hay to feed the animals. The capybaras are super cute when they eat! 🥰 There's also a small cafe within the park, and the souvenir shop at the exit has a wide array of adorable merchandise, including plush toys, cups, badges, and hats – almost anything you can imagine. Overall, the planning is excellent, and the staff are friendly and enthusiastic. We would definitely visit again if we have the chance!

It might be better if the park could be divided into more specific sections. Although the staff diligently clean, there is still an odor. As for feeding, the animals in the small animal area seemed to have already eaten. They didn't eat the feed I bought; they seemed to prefer grass. Overall, the experience felt very ordinary compared to other similar venues.

We planned another trip to Yilan, and this was our second visit to Zhang Mei Ama's Farm. The number of visitors was noticeably fewer than last time, and the animal enclosures were slightly different, but it was still just as fun. It's a pretty good place! 😃

The children had a wonderful time. For those celebrating a birthday this month, the amount of hay for feeding animals is doubled, and they also receive a birthday sticker to wear. The staff wished them a happy birthday and were very kind to the animals. Highly recommended!
