Pure Snorkelling Half Day Great Barrier Reef Tour

Absolutely beautiful, well organised, communication from the beginning and during. Passionate about what they do, and our sea and everything in it. Children to our elderly were all there to enjoy the day.

They had a young, vibrant and helpful team to guide you in snorkelling. You just have to be at least fit and healthy to attend. The experience was awesome and the crew and team really takes good care of you. Swimmer or non-swimmers will probably be better to get a float during the snorkelling experience. For those who haven snorkel before, the sea water is really salty but the underwater coral views are amazing!!! Maximum pax to join will be around 30 to max 40. Snacks and sea sick pills are available on board and you can pay them when you alight at the end of the trip. Super highly recommended to join this experience.

Great experience despite the rough waves. We booked our half-day snorkelling trip to Thetford Reef with Pure Snorkelling and had a good experience overall. The waves were quite strong on the day we went, so snorkelling was a bit challenging, especially for someone like me who is not very confident in deep waters. But the crew was professional and reassuring, which made me feel safe throughout. One thing I really appreciated was that some of the crew were marine biologists and divers. This made the trip feel more meaningful because they would occasionally dive down and explain what we were seeing, instead of us just snorkelling around on our own. It definitely added value to the whole experience. I didn’t get to see turtles or sharks, but I still saw fishes and corals, and even an end-to-end rainbow, which was really memorable. The boat ride back was quite rough, but the crew provided snacks like fruits, cheese, and crackers, which helped a lot.

This was an amazing snorkeling trip, with the main goal being snorkeling, heading straight for Moore Reef. There were several very nice instructors on the boat. After we set sail, they repeatedly checked our swimming ability, snorkeling experience, and so on, showing great patience. All the snorkeling equipment was also very well prepared. It was my first time in deep water, and I was very scared, but with a float and an instructor accompanying me the whole time, I felt very safe. The instructor constantly checked if I was okay, and someone on the second deck of the boat was also observing the situation in the water. In short, I felt very secure! Next time I come to Cairns, I will definitely choose them again! They are a local, young company, not as famous as other boats, but for pure snorkeling enjoyment, they are absolutely the most cost-effective!

I’d like to specifically call out Monica, Jamie and Cam for being just killers. if you’re looking for a great, local tour of the Great Barrier Reef, I can’t recommend them enough. Special shout out to Jamie for seeing I was struggling with all the sea sick folks and got me to a place I could relax on the boat ride back

The tour was very well organized and informative. The crew were also very friendly and prepared for possible emergencies. The reef was amazing with many fish and also saw a couple harmless reef sharks.

It was great to learn about the Great Barrier Reef and its creatures from the pre-trip explanation! Even though I was traveling alone, I was so happy that our guide, Lawrence, frequently spoke to me and looked out for me. It was the most beautiful ocean I've ever seen! I highly recommend it over snorkeling in shallow waters!

The trip was smooth, the coach was awesome, the scenery was super cool, the memories were great
