We were so lucky to have Li as our guide; he made our Summer Palace trip incredibly memorable. Great Mutianyu hike with guide. Embark on a Mutianyu day with a friendly, bilingual guide. Chose cable car going Up and Slide going down, then tour the towers and viewpoints at a comfortable pace. For lunch, we ate a nearby village restaurant simple eat all you can food. Went to JADE shopping.

Allen was well organised and his English was impeccable. The private van was very comfortable. We had the 4 hr tour and managed to hit all the landmarks of the tour, but you'll need the 6 hr tour if you want a boat ride of the lake. Allen provided basic insight and interesting history of the Summer Palace. Would still recommend if you want a dedicated Summer Palace tour with organised transport

I was able to take my time and see the sights with the guide's detailed explanations and excellent Japanese. Since we had a total of 3 hours, we visited the Tower of Buddhist Incense and the Marble Boat, which are not usually included in tours. After that, we took a boat to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. Since I was planning to go to the Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan) next, the guide also gave me directions.

We had Ranee as our guide and she was very knowledgeable in the rich history of each place. It was a more meaningful experience as we get to know the story behind the site that we visited and more. We enjoyed it a lot that we booked a second tour with her. She can also suggest good local food and other places of interest to visit. She’s also very helpful with our other concerns. The drivers were also very friendly and nice, preparing some fruits and water for us. Overall, I would recommend this tour with Ranee.
