Worth the journey to have a look at the glow worms in pitch black darkness. The boat ride is about 45 mins each way. The walk into the cave wasn't that far as highlighted. The guides were excellent and friendly, providing entertaining explanations on the cave and the glow worms.

My family and I had a great time on this tour. Mr. Chao, the driver, was informative and gave thorough instructions on pick up points throughout all the stops we made. It was an extremely rainy day, but that just made the waterfalls even more magical.

I made a reservation in advance and reported to the counter with my mobile phone voucher. During the pick-up process, a short video will be played, giving you a welcoming feeling and a sense of excitement that a fantasy world is about to come! The tour guide will lead you to visit the park. Be sure to follow along. Don't stay or wander around at will. Take your time to enjoy the scenery or take photos. If you miss it, you will never look back. The tour guide is all in English, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t understand the introduction, you can still have a lot of fun! The tour guide will also help take photos! The last stop was the pub, where everyone could choose a free drink. I chose the only ginger ale without alcohol. It was a big cup, delicious and filling! I really wanted to sit by the stove and stay for an hour or two, but unfortunately it was only a few minutes (maybe half an hour, or even shorter, I kind of forgot). Free drinks and self-brewed coffee are available. When leaving the park, everyone received a shaped cup as a souvenir. ps: Before entering the park, the tour guide asked if there was anyone who didn’t know why they were standing here. I wanted to raise my hand because I had never even read the relevant movie books. When I originally arranged the itinerary, I even wanted to save some travel expenses. Skip this man-made attraction, but it’s a good thing! The natural scenery is beautiful, and the architectural furnishings and various objects are exquisitely made, as if they were made entirely from nature! Of course, we also take great care in maintaining it! Well worth a visit!

wasn't a big fan of LOTR but honestly learned a lot from this tour. riding on a 4wd vehicle adds to the fun as well! the tour guide is very knowledgeable and fun. the banana bread (and other food) brought is delicious. it's cute when the driver offered us to eat what he brought for us. 🙂

The tour guide was very friendly and pointed out interesting sights along the way. They also informed us in advance where restrooms were located and found scenic spots for us to get out, take photos, and enjoy the views.

From start to finish, this tour was absolutely fantastic. Our guide, Steve, was knowledgeable, personable, and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great time. The itinerary was well-paced—busy enough to see all the highlights but never rushed. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and the included lunch box was a delicious surprise. I especially appreciated the small-group setting, which made it easy to ask questions and connect with fellow travelers. Whether you’re a history buff, a photo lover, or just looking for a stress-free way to explore, this tour delivers. Worth every penny. Highly recommend!

The event was completely beyond expectations. Since photography and photography are prohibited in the Glowworm Cave, most of the information I could see beforehand was only text descriptions. I was dubious about how spectacular it was. I was very moved after actually participating! The check-in location is easy to find. It is near the Takahe statue, the landmark of Te Anau. You can stop by to take photos and take a boat to the glowworm cave. Because photography is prohibited in the cave, photos taken during the ride are provided. The staff will explain the precautions before entering the cave. It is simple and clear. After entering the cave, you will be amazed by the special landforms in the cave, such as undercurrents, stalactites, etc. You are even lucky enough to see wild eels. After you get on the boat and turn off the lighting, It was completely dark before my eyes, and then I saw dots of fireflies that looked like blue stars. In order to avoid sound interference, the whole process of watching fireflies is kept quiet, and the staff will not explain aloud. After watching, go back indoors to drink hot drinks, and then listen to the staff's explanations, paired with videos and vivid introductions, so that tourists can not only watch Go to the mysterious glowworm cave and get to know this special creature.
