Things to do in Shanghai Zhujiajiao Ancient Town

The itinerary was perfectly planned. In the morning, we explored Shanghai Film Park, which felt like stepping back into old Shanghai, full of atmosphere. In the afternoon, we went straight to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, with its white walls, black tiles, and beautiful river views. North Street offered authentic and affordable local snacks everywhere. The pace throughout the day was relaxed, allowing us to experience both the retro Shanghai style and the slow-paced life of a Jiangnan water town, making it suitable for all ages! Today, I visited Zhujiajiao, and it was truly beautiful. The private car arrived on time, and the tour guide provided a detailed explanation of Zhujiajiao's history during the ride. Since today is also the Dragon Boat Festival, the guide explained its origins to all the tour members. After we got off the bus, the tour leader guided us through the unique features of the water town, including the City God Temple, which houses an ancient ginkgo tree. I thoroughly enjoyed today's trip and will definitely consider joining another one in the future.

Zhujiajiao's three-mile-long street, with its thousands of shops, is very charming. The European-style corridors of Kezhi Garden, blending Chinese and Western influences, are a delightful surprise. Yu Garden, though small, is exquisite, with every lattice window and carving worth a closer look.
